We bought our first DVC contract and closed already. Our deed got recorded on 7/27 and getting ready to call DVD soon. Is there a certain number and extension to call to get our member number and activate our account before our welcome package arrives through snail mail? What do I need when I call and get lucky enough for someone to actually help me? I've heard that I need contract number, sellers names and all kinds of things, is any of this true? Thank you all so much, learned quite a bit from this forum already.

800-800-9800 #2 and then #2. You should be able to get your membership number and id plus activation code all in one phone call. I would wait about 10 day's before doing that though... You will need the members numbers, contract number when you call.

Think I had to try 2 then 3 or other way around. If you fail at first try again as you need to get a helpful person.

If your broker collected your SSN, you can use that for MS to look up your info.

Not sure if they did or not, been a while since we first put the bid in and everything. Would member services just lookup our info based on my ssn then?

MS uses your SSN for security purposes. If they have your SSN on file and you have been added into the system, MS can find your account with your SSN.

My call a couple of weeks ago - sorry I don't recall the extension - began with a nice person asking for the contract number, sellers name and number of annual points. They then checked the last 4 of my social and full address as security questions and gave me my contract number and member number. They transferred me to a different person who provided the club number(s) and activation codes for the online system. If you already have a My Disney Experience sign on set up, you can sign on to the DVC site with those credentials and then use the club number and activation code to "unlock" the DVC site and thereby have one sign on for all things Disney. Both my wife and and I can now sign on to DVC using our MDE credentials. Each titled member is a slight variation on the club number... .1, .2, .3 etc and each will have an individual activation code.
