Getting nervous about the Memorial Week crowds

After reading the posts about how dead the park is now and how crowded it is at peak times, I'm getting really nervous about our upcoming trip over Memorial week. I've only ever been the first week in May, but we couldn't swing that this year. We've got extended family there Su-Tu, so avoiding the parks during the weekend aren't an option.

Can anyone really quantify how busy it will be so I can be prepared for what to expect? Like how long will the ride lines be at the MK? Will we ever get a space to watch a parade without staking out our spots an hour in advance? Will we quietly curse ourselves and vow "never again"?

Never been at Memorial Day before, so can't really tell yet.

But two words: USE FASTPASS.

I am there with you. I am planning to take full advantage of Early Entry. This worked very well at Christmas.

We have been at WDW since last Sunday. Sorry to say that IMHO the crowds that were very much absent last week have been growing. But you can't really predict, and you know Disney will be ready with extended hours, more castmembers, etc. They definiately know how to handle crowds. Like the others said--Get an EARLY start. Have fun....

Come with the right expectations! Expect that you will need to stake out a spot for the evening parade an hour in advance, because, yes, it will be crowded!

It's all a matter of perspective. Disney can still be a really fun place even when it's crowded. Go down there expecting it to be very crowded, have a strategy, and have a great time!
