Getting Nervous About Philippe....

I'm not really worried about it, it would be disappointing to loose a day in the parks but it happens I guess!!

We were in WDW at the Poly during Jeanne last year and were disappointed losing a day in the parks too, at first (especially with 2 very active 4 year olds). However, it turned out to be a pretty great day, considering. The cast members were great and had plenty of activities planned. Once the weather had a few "calm" spots, we were allowed to leave our rooms and go to the lobby. They had some great arts and crafts set up for the kids, vists from various characters, entertainment (some dancers from World Showcase, I think) and the ever elusive "candy lady" from Japan that we had been trying to see forever! The cast members deserve :grouphug: for being so amazing, when many of them were away from their homes and families, yet were calming guests and keeping people entertained and in great spirits. We got a chance to meet and talk to many different types of people during our day of "captivity" and always felt very safe. If I were you I would just go with the flow and whatever happens, you are in good hands and are still in Disney!

They don't have "Z" names. They also don't have Q, U, X or Y. The names remaining for this season are Rita, Stan, Tammy, Vince and Wilma.

In 1995 there was a Hurricane Tanya. I haven't seen any names beyond that alphabetically.

The National Hurricane Center's website says "In the event that more than 21 named tropical cyclones occur in the Atlantic basin in a season, additional storms will take names from the Greek alphabet: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and so on."

Thanks! :)

Everyone was worried Ophelia would ruin their vacations.

And she didn't. At least not at Disney World. It's my understanding tourists were evacuated from the Outer Banks.

Either way, there's NOTHING you can do - so why are you stressing? At the very worst, Disney would work with you to cancel or reschedule, as would airlines.

Exactly. Thank you. Everyone is driving me crazy asking me if we are worried about the hurricanes since we leave on 9/24.

Its projected to go into the Gulf of Mexico, they are currently evacuating FL Keys and then over towards Mexico or Tx

That is great to know that they keep you entertained and help keep people calm :umbrella: Thanks for information :goodvibes

It's official...TD 18 is now TS Rita. Right now her track is straight across the Gulf toward Mexico. They show that she might hook up toward Texas, but it's still early to know where she's going.

Philippe's new track is taking him further north.
