What if WDW banned Alcohol?

I wish they only served liquor at sit-down restaurants. Outside the parks no one has beer or alcohol at Burger King, Whataburger, or the like, so why CS? It's clearly for the profit at WDW. No one needs it, but maybe that's my hardly drinking me talking.
I think Disney has been forced to cater to the adults-without-kids crowd over the years. I'm not a drinker, but it doesn't bother me to have it in the parks. As long as they aren't disorderly or puking on the rides.

Because you’re not paying hundreds of dollars to go to a fast food restaurant.

No one needs a churro either, but I probably wouldn't ever buy a beer at WDW if I had to go inside and sit down to get it. we just keep moving so much, I appreciate the convenience of outdoor vendors.

My personal perspective is that I've been in places where people were much drunker and more obnoxious (local theme parks and theme parks formerly run by beer companies... and Oktoberfest in Munich). I think Disney does a good job of pricing and serving drinks that are not likely to get people very drunk very fast (except at Epcot) and I think they rely on servers and security to deal with people who are at their limit. At the 49er game a few weeks back, the vendors were selling to guys in the bathroom line... that was a bit much, but they were doing brisk sales (for the profit of the 49ers)

I ran a parish festival for several years and every year I'd have someone say "what if we cut beer and margaritas", and I said, we'd never make any money. Some people enjoy a beer or margarita walking around, at dinner, or fireworks. I don't think Profit is a 4 letter word and I recognize that Disney has to make a profit, but also manage their park atmosphere.

I've seen this shift in other places too: there's beer at College basketball and football games when a lot of stadiums did not have it before 10-15 years ago.

FWIW international destinations are much more likely to have a fast food location have alcohol, because they do not see alcohol as such a "sinly" thing as we do.

Frankly, I would be less inclined to visit WDW without alcohol being available in the parks. If they made all the parks “dry” I would think twice about continuing to visit as often as we do.

We don’t get drunk, of course, but we do enjoy a drink or two as we tour. Especially at Epcot with all the specialty beers for each country in the World Showcase.

I have the ideal Disney park for folks who oppose alcohol: Disneyland Abu Dhabi. Very likely alcohol will only be served at the hotel(s). You can fly Air Arabia there for a completely dry experience.

Especially in Epcot, I myself like to sample Sangria in Morrocco and Magarita in Mexico and wines in Italy Germany and France. I think it adds to the experience of World Showcase. I haven't seen unruly drunks thankfully.

I remember the first time I went to Japan and the Taco Bell there served beer. It totally made up for eating food from Taco Bell.
I declined getting it but there was a Burger King in a Germany train station that had beer. Was the same Burger King you'd get here but with the ability to get beer if you wanted to.

I like having the option to have a drink, especially at Epcot during the festivals where I can sample something different. I've only seen bad behavior once there, but sadly I've seen more bad behavior at MK where there's not booze available unless at sit-downs. It's quite expensive to drink (and eat) at Disney in general and it's not a place I would go to get blasted (I am too old and the hangovers aren't worth it) but a margarita or a beer while wandering around is a nice treat.

My wife and I went on a "kids-free" trip from a Thursday night to Sunday morning. Magic Kingdom on Thursday has that great clasic Disney charm. Hollywood Studios felt very Disney too. But Epcot on Saturday was... well, almost annoying?

We entered the World's Showcase around Noon. We intended on drinking/eating around the world--just one drink and one food item at each country that we'd share. "Getting drunk" wasn't our goal, we really just wanted to sample stuff and would purposefully get the smallest sized drink possible (like a 4 oz. beer in Canada).

But holy cow was it packed. So many people in their 20s, wearing (IMO) too revealing of clothing for Disney, just being opening drunk and treating the World Showcase like one big bar. 30-45 minute waits at every single booth. We managed to make it to Italy before just being tired of the waiting and the crowds. I also saw two different occassions of there being vomit on the ground that an employee had to come clean up.

We took our kids back in 2024 and were at Epcot on a Tuesday and it was definitely no where near as packed--but there was still a big lack of seating and general crowd congestion in certain parts.

There are certain things about Epcot I love, but the general drunkeness takes away from the Disney charm for me. I'm not saying ban alcohol, but I've never ever felt the way Epcot made me feel when I'm at HS or MK.

Saturday was, I believe, the first or second day of Festival of the Arts. Combine that with a holiday weekend and that explains the crowds.

No, it doesn't excuse the drunkenness or the vomit, but I also don't feel that was a "normal" day at Epcot.

I also think people see someone throwing up and assume overconsumption of alcohol. Unless you've been around that person while they were drinking you really can't make that assumption, can it be that sure but don't just automatically make an assumption. At Epcot there is Guardians of the Galaxy and Mission Space (either side can do it depending on the issue someone has) that can cause motion sickness and when Guardians first opened it was notorious for the stories being told of barely making it type stories. And then there's just someone actually ill with something else.
