It seems like all I have been doing is eating, drinking, sleeping and breathing (and injuring) running getting ready for this race. I gotta tell ya...I'm looking forward to not having a running schedule starting Monday. I plan on keeping up with it to prepare for an 8K in April (need to keep motivated) but if I can't run due to weather, plans or whatever else, it won't be the end of the world. I hope to just run for fun now. I haven't ran for "fun" since I started running. I'm not sure how I'm going to feel about this new found freedom.

Burn out definitely happens. Take some time off after the race this weekend and don't run at all. After the marathon in 2010, I didn't run til February. Your body needs a break anyway. And you would still have plenty of time to prep for an April 8k. I ran a 5-miler in March and things went fine.

I hope you find the enjoyment in your running again. But don't sweat it now. Just take some time to relax.

Maura
