Getting my eyes 'done' tomorrow!

Going for laser surgery tomorrow at Optimax in Manchester. Because it's the epi-lasek procedure, I wont be able to use a computer or watch tv for a few days! Apparently my vision will be blurry for 7-10 days (unlike when people have lasik done, when you can see perfectly straight away!)
What worries me most, apart from having my eye balls scraped and zapped! Is that I wont be able to get my eyes wet for 2 weeks, so showers and washing of hair is going to be tricky!
Also wont be able to drive for a week.
And will have to wear my sunglasses when teaching a class of 32 monsters on Monday!
Oh well, it's a means to an end!!!
Wish me luck. :earseek:

I had mine "done" several years ago and love it. It's wonderful to be able to see the bedside clock at night. :magnify:

I worried about having it done, but it's not too bad. It'll be over before you know it. The waiting was the worst part, most definitely.

Good Luck!

i had mine done too last year and its fab....my only regret is that i wish i had done it earlier,
let us know how u get on

Can't see too well just yet, so this'll be short!
Had epi-lasek done on Friday as planned. They had double booked, so had 'to fit me in', not a great start!
The laser bit was fine, but wasn't prepared for the burning smell, the doctor forgot to mention that bit!
What i really wasn't prepared for was the pain afterwards... Because with epi-lasek you are to expect 'discomfort', I was expecting it obviously. But I could barely open my eyes all of Saturday, and only could open them for a few minutes at a time yesterday. Today, much improved, but everythings very blurry...
Going this afternoon for the contact lens bandages to be taken out.
Once I've recovered properly, I'll probably think it's the best thing since sliced bread, but at the moment I have my doubts.
I'll keep you updated, once my vision clears and the ghosts have gone!!!
Ian (minus glasses, but now blind as a bat!:cool2: )

Sorry - only just caught up with this one. I'm not too sure what exactly you've had done, and not sure I want to!! But anything to do with eyes (I'm as blind as a bat without my glasses) makes me very squeamish. Glad to hear you're improving as the days go on.

You are very brave - it took one doctor and one nurse to hold me down last week just to have something cut off of my eyelid:faint:
