At what point in the resale process does/would Disney start to put you into their system? The closing company has the papers and my money:sad1: . Dying to make a reservation just outside the 7mo. window.
Thanks you guys have been great.:thumbsup2

It takes a few days. Once you've officially closed, and the deed has your name(s) on it and it's filed, you will be put into the DVC system. DVC will establish your ownership in their system on one day. Then, as I remember, it took another day (maybe two) for the points to be entered against our "account" (for lack of a better term for this discussion).

I remember calling a couple days, telling MS that I just closed on a resale contract, and asking to see if I was "in the system". The first time I called, we weren't in it yet. It took a day or two after closing to get that far. But I was able to obtain all the information necessary to establish my login on the website during these calls.

Then our points were entered, and we were able to make ressies.

I hope this helps with answering your question, although I'm sure it doesn't help with anxiety.

While there may be some minor variance, once closing has completed, the deed still needs to be recorded with the county and is then sent to DVC.

In the past, most resale purchasers found themselves able to access their account about a week after closing had been completed. Usually you would have a date for closing (if not, ask your resale broker or closing company) and I'd suggest calling a few days after that to see if you're in the computer.

Enjoy! :)

Yes, by "filed" I did mean with the Orange County comptroller's office.

Once closed the closing company usually sends a COPY of the deed to DVC and they change the registration based on that. They seem to have no way of knowing if it was actually filed or not. I don't know if they follow up with the county to double check later but it's clear they don't do so for the original registration.
