Getting frustrated!!!

So I purchased some gifts on Ebay over the past few weeks.
All have been immediate payment, so no time delay on my end.
Well, one of the sellers waited a full week before putting his in the mail.
Then, the tracking number provided was invalid.
They sent another, but the info is not being updated, so I have no clue where the package is!

Another seller sent my purchase within a few days, but used DHL -USPS?
So it had to process thru DHL, then when they gave it to USPS, it went to a sorting facility (forgot where), then finally came to Toledo.
From there it SHOULD have gone to Defiance and then been headed to me.
No, Toledo sends it out to Minneapolis!!!
Min. processes it, sends it out for delivery, realizes it doesn't belong there, and now they are reprocessing it!!
WOW!! Really?!?!?

These 2 purchases were made on Dec 5, and I have no idea if either one will ever make it here.

And this is why I shop in stores!!!

I'm sorry to hear that. I get really frustrated with sellers who take so long to ship too. I don't think the whole rerouting thing is the sellers fault nor is the lack of update on the tracking. It is up to each sort facility to scan the package. If they don't you can't track it. good luck. I hope it all works out!

Oh, no, I wasn't blaming seller #2 for the rerouting issue. That's 100% our beloved USPS!! Unless, of course, the seller messed up my address somehow.
But I won't know that until the package arrives.

I am just frustrated that I am having so much trouble getting these packages delivered.

I hate any shipper that ships to USPS. FedEx does it too. A lot of times this is what you get when you choose free shipping. Our postal carriers are the worst, two years ago I had one leave a box with a camera lens on the ground next to my mail box. Our driveway is quite long and windy so I can't even see when there's something there. Luckily it wasn't stolen. Another time they propped a package against our garage door right behind our car. It's a wonder I didn't run over it when leaving.

I think the success/fail of different shippers tends to vary a bit by location. In my previous residence, UPS was the worst, largely because there was no way for them to get into the building. At my current place, our Fedex guy was averse to pressing the buzzer to tell us he had a package. (This does seem to be getting better, maybe, though.) On the other hand, UPS is very good about it, and anything that's handed off to USPS is never an issue for us.

As I said, though, mileage varies on this.

I sold an item and so far NO tracking information has been added to the package. I have a buyer wondering where it is as it is a christmas gift. I am super annoyed with the PO right now.

Post office delivery confirmation shows no tracking. Just drop off and delivery, so it's somewhat less informative than other carriers' tracking.

You really have to pay attention to the terms in an Ebay auction. I found out the hard way that a seller I purchased from is very slow to ship. When I went back and checked after it had not been shipped in a week, I found they said it takes them 5 business days to ship. They finally shipped on day 11. There is no excuse for that as far as I'm concerned but it is partially my fault for not paying attention to their terms more closely.

I use USPS Priority shipping and I have gotten great feedback because of the speed. Of course I ship within 1-2 days of payment (which is what I list in my ad).
I have ordered 2 things from Kohls and oddly enough both got lost. They said it was FedEx but they delivered it to my local PO for delivery?????

I sell on ebay and ship within 48 hrs of cleared payment...usually the next day.
It is frustrating to me when the tracking numbers don't update as well, but nothing I can do about it. Believe me, I want to know it got to the buyer just like they want to know it is coming.

Wow.
Sounds like a lot of people have shipping issues!
At least it isn't just me!!
Sorry to hear about the rest of you having troubles too.

I did finally get info on the one that previously had no updates on the tracking.
It looks like it should arrive by tomorrow, or Monday at the latest.

The other one... ????????... still floating around in Minnesota somewhere??? :confused3

Here's something I've never seen before.....ordered something a couple of weeks back received the nipping notification from UPS. Then I received an email that delivery was delayed due to the truck/airplane breaking down. (That was the wording). The package arrived that afternoon! I think it's all voodoo this time of year!

Voodoo? Maybe!
I just know I don't like depending on a shipping company and sellers to get my gifts to me in time for Christmas.
Think I will stick to driving to stores and taking the gifts home with me!!!
Too risky doing this crazy routine!!

I haven't bought off Ebay in years but decided to purchase a couple of gifts for Christmas. Neither one has updated tracking info from USPS. Neither even shows they've been accepted. I guess something is just up with USPS's system which doesn't surprise me

I agree, it's very frustrating this time of year. I'm thankful that my last package arrived today. Now the only thing I'm waiting on is hubby's replacement iPhone but its due Monday.

Glad to hear all of your packages have made it in time!
Good news here too.
I just pulled up the tracking for the first of the 2 items I mentioned in my OP, and it is "out for delivery".
That is good because it is the new covers for DD14's IPod touch.

All the rest of my items are for DH. He's a big boy and will understand if his stuff doesn't arrive in time.
DD14 would too, but I hate when I have to tell one of my kids they don't get their gift on Christmas.

Here's hoping all 6 of DH's gifts arrive soon!! It'll be a light Christmas morning for him otherwise!!

I have had numerous shipping issues as a seller this season also. I have sold on ebay for over 11 years and have never, ever had so many problems.

I've had 2 packages that showed "out for delivery" and were then subsequently "lost". In one case, the label got partially torn off and the buyer found the package at his post office - I guess the zip code was intact, so they knew the street, but not the house number. In the other case, nothing was wrong with the label or address, it just didn't get delivered, then got set aside in the post office and just sat there for a few days until the buyer contacted me. She was able to pick it up at her local post office.

Then, a 3rd package showed out for delivery, then "moved, no forwarding address" - the buyer contacted me and verified the address I shipped to was correct. He opened a case with his post office, but they basically said they screwed up and returned to sender. I ended up refunding him and I got the package back the other day. He still gave me a neutral, even though nothing that happened was my fault and I even refunded his original shipping fee.

I just can't believe I've had this many problems in the past month or so. And while delivery confirmation is just that, if they scan the package at each step, you can definitely follow its progress, although most of mine have been missing the "acceptance" scan lately and the first location is the sorting facility 2 hours from here.

OP, glad your package(s) arrived - it does tend to get hairier the closer you get to Christmas! :goodvibes

I would just give the first person negative feedback. If it doesn't get to you before Christmas hopefully you can get your money back.

P.S. I am from Toledo and my mom was born in Hamler, OH!

Well, hello neighbor!! We are about 30 min west of you.

I will definitely be leaving bad feedback for that first seller.
The ipod covers don't even fit the ipod!!
I am soooooo ticked!!
I wish I had chosen a diff seller. Many had the ame items, and I went with the wrong one!!

The second item still hasn't shown any procesing since the re-process update in Minn.

A third item arrived yesterday - one of the things I just bought this past week. She was an awesome seller. Shipped right away and it got here in a matter of days.

I am hoping #4-6 make it too.
Purchased #7 yesterday, but it's coming from TX, so I am not holding out a lot of hope on that one.

Sigh... lesson learned. Next year go to the store. That or buy in JUNE!!!

Just so you don't have expectations -- the USPS does not provide TRACKING. They provide DELIVERY CONFIRMATION -- you will not get updated information using that number. The only information that will be provided comes when the item is DELIVERED. And unless you choose signature upon delivery, you won't know if a human being received the package, if it was left on a porch, etc. (although, at least in our area, they can't leave things on porches any more unless they have a signed release from the homeowner. Well, theoretically at least -- I don't think I ever signed that release and have come home to find things on my porch...)
