Getting from Epcot to MK?

I'm considering driving our car over to Epcot, eating dinner there, and then taking some form of Disney transportation to MK. It seems like the better restaurants are over at Epcot, but I really don't think we'll want to spend an evening at Epcot. One full morning plus lunch at Askershus will be plenty for our young kids.

Do people do this? Is this a bad idea? Any advice on the easiest way to do this?

You can take the Monorail from MK to Epcot and vice versa.

As FLChick said, you can easily take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC and then either monorail or ferry to the MK.

I'm a little confused by your scenario, though. What are you doing the rest of the day? So are you talking about the same day -- morning at Epcot, lunch at Askershus, dinner somewhere else at Epcot, then finish the day at MK?

If not, where were you planning to spend the morning and afternoon? From where would you be driving to Epcot? Remember if you take Disney transportation to MK, you will have to take Disney transport back to Epcot to get your car. If the MK is open quite a bit later than Epcot that day, I'm not sure how long the Epcot monorail will run.

One other point, if you are planning for a dinner in the World Showcase area, it is a LONG trek from parking, through Future World, and around WS. Sometimes it is easier to enter through the International Gateway.

You can take the Monorail from MK to Epcot and vice versa.

(Yes. There is a monorail change at TTC to complete the trip, either way.)

Alternate: if you are dining in World Showcase (especially on or near the western half) it might make sense to exit the International Gateway and walking to the Beach Club to board the MK bus. (See maps below.)

When you are ready to return from MK to Epcot, take the monorail, as it will terminate next to the Epcot parking lot (and your car.)
