How difficult is it to get from the A side to the B side at MCO? There's a store I want to stop at on the A side, (Lush for bath bombs woo! ) prior to going to ME that is on the B side. Will I have to go through security again or are both sides prior to security?

Thanks!

You shouldn't have to go through security. We've flown in to the A side and come up a level to the main concourse (stores - Shopping), over, and then down to the B side transportation for ME.

The stores are located outside of security. It should not be too big a deal to stop at a store on the A side en route to DME on the B side.

Lush is not on the A or B side. It's in the main terminal food court area, squarely in the middle of the terminal, between all the concourses. It is land-side.

A and B only applies to the ground transit and baggage claim areas down on the lower levels, also land-side. On the main terminal concourse level "A" and "B" serve only as only directional references to which set of exit elevators/escalators you would be headed toward.

Err...wha? :confused3 Now I'm totally confused. I'm flying Southwest, so when I take the little faux monorail over to the Land-Side and then pass by security, I have to chose if I go to the A side or the B side. Which side should I go through to get to Lush? I thought the Terminal Map said it was on the A side. http://www.orlandoairports.net/images/flash/Shopping_Landside.pdf

Imagine the main terminal and the trams to the gates as the "main road" and the A and B are the side streets. When you get off the tram, you'll be on the main road. You need to know what side street your luggage is on so you know which way to turn. When you get off the tram, there are signs that tell you to go left or right for A or B, but you are still exiting the "sterile area" onto the same main road. Those signs just help get you in the correct "lane"...it's all the same open, connected central plaza/shopping area. No matter which side you pick, you'll end up in the right place.

If it were me, I'd go claim my luggage first, which means going down a level. Then go back up to the main terminal level to go to Lush. I'd also get some Chick-Fil-A while I was there, but that's just me. ;)

Think of MCO as a big ole X..but stretched out, with a box in the middle. That box in the middle is where you will find the vast majority of restaurants and shops...anyone can get to them.
A and B sides are 'off to each side'. When you get off the monorail, and get to the central area, you will notice on either side of you, up high, neon signage that says Side A or Side B. You are then directed to the appropriate area for your baggage claim.
As you can see, on the map you gave the link for..it is one giant area...but some things are closer to the A side while others are closer to B. They are all accessible to everyone.

Think of the MCO main terminal (the box in the middle) as a football field. The A side and the B side are the side grandstands (although you go down instead of up). The tram stations and security areas are at the goalposts. The food court can be thought of as smack dab in the middle of the field. The stores are "on the field" as opposed to "in the grandstands". Exiting security from Soutwest's gates, the A side is on your right and the B side is on your left. Most of the stores are at the far end "downfield" although some are visible as you exit security where the Hyatt Hotel is right above you.

No side. It will be down the hallway (the one with moving sidewalks) directly ahead of you. When you come past security through the exit hallway, look directly ahead across the open expanse of the terminal; the big fountain will be to your left. As you look across the open expanse you will see a Sea World gift shop on the far side (it's very blue.) Head for the Sea World gift shop and enter the hallway just to the left of it. Lush is about the third shop down on the right side of that hallway, just before the left side of the hallway opens out into the food court.

(On your map, it's in the section marked C, very near the restrooms that are marked on the map.)

You don't want to go through any of the entranceways marked A or B on the arrivals level, because those entranceways all lead ONLY to stairways or escalators that will take you to the lower levels of the terminal (SeashoreCM's "grandstands"). You need to stay on Level 3 if you want to shop, so you won't go under those big neon letters unless you want to go and get your luggage first and then some back up to shop.
