Getting fit & losing weight before our next 2015 Disney trip!

Hi all!
I majorly fell off the wagon. My daughter is chronically ill and ended up sick for about 3 weeks. I am trying to play catch up with sleep and everything else. Ugh.
Walking was my much needed break from everything and I really need to get back in the habit. Sweat melts my stress. I'm going to start back tomorrow and start checking in daily for accountability. Reading your posts is great motivation!
 I hope your daughter is doing better and that you are able to get back to walking.

I think I need to check in daily as well!
I counted points for the first time in a year or so yesterday. I also did a 35 minutes plus cool down strength DVD (Rushfit).
I almost had a problem this morning when I forgot my breakfast in the microwave, but I was able to go to Chick-fil-a and get an oatmeal for only one more point than my original breakfast.

I have joined WW a number of times over the years and currently have an online membership that is about to expire. I need to either get back on track with it or cancel it since I'm just wasting money at this point. I'm finding it very hard to be organized enough to maintain a weight loss program and a running program and a fitness goal. Ugh. I will figure it out though I'm determined to be successful this time.

Welcome to Missy, Becca, and dizzyr!

I am finally over my cold, got my first workout in last night. It felt good! I think I actually lost weight while sick, maybe because I only wanted to eat soup and popsicles! I've been trading the same 2 pounds, up and down, since August - I'm ready to get this weight off of me!!! I just joined a DietBet, and I'm on a Biggest Loser Challenge team on SparkPeople, plus on here with my fellow Disney lovers... lots of support! We can do this together!

Sounds like me a few months ago. I took a break from WW, lost a maybe 20 lbs gained 8 back, etc.

In the past, though, I have had really great success with WW, though.

Here's to day 3 of counting points for me! I have felt "deprived" but not hungry, if that makes any sense. I have been eating 3 meals and 2 snacks plus a dessert (with my fit points). I think that has helped the hunger levels. I was on again off again with Simply Filling, but I think that experience with eating Power Foods (or low point but nutritious foods) has helped.

I know what you mean about being organized. If I want to do WW and not blow through my extra points or be hungry, I HAVE to plan ahead.

I hope the DietBet and Biggest Loser goes well for you. :thumbsup2

Hey dizzyr! I went through the same thing with WW. Was successful a few years back and then had a health issue and I put on weight. I have tried both meetings and online about 3 times in the last few years and I am not able to get back into my WW jive again. I stopped because I too was just throwing good money at it... Now I am really trying to focus on exercise and eating in moderation.

Nothing worth having is easy! :cheer2:

I'd like to join in, if that's okay.

My name is Becca, maybe. My husband and I are going to Disney World for our honeymoon/ one year anniversary, from May 1-9.

My goal is more in losing inches, but weight has more immediate difference almost always, so I am aiming for 40 pounds.

Update: I have lost 3.4 pounds, and did get my gym membership. I've been tracking everything I eat in mfp (maybebecca on there as well, feel free to friend me), and weighing in every day to make sure I'm keeping on track. I've worked out at the gym a couple times, and also started taking a group fit tennis class which is twice a month, and I have tennis lessons once a week. Feel good, in control, and progressive. I have lost some amount of my circumference, and just overall I'm excited to finally be taking control of my health. My goal by end of October is 9 pounds away which is a ways, but still achievable.

Becca, that's awesome! :cheer2: Way to set an example of what hard work can achieve! :thumbsup2

I lost 2 pounds this past week, and I took measurements - I haven't done that in almost 2 months. I lost an inch in my waist and bust, and 1/2 inch in my chest - I'll take it, it's a start! :)

Hi ladies!

I hope everyone is having a good week! I stayed the same this week, which was alright by me (I was PMSing... lol... you know....). I did really well with my workouts this week, so I am hoping to see good things.

This week-end is our Thanksgiving in Canada and we had our one big meal last night. I have time to work it off before my weigh-in on Wednesday!

Keep up all good things my fellow WISHers!!! :cutie:

Hi there everyone! My, my this has become an active group! Thank you to everyone for keeping the conversations active. I'm very sorry I've been remiss in checking in for a bit. Work has been extremely busy for me & I've just been exhausted at night, literally falling asleep on the couch which is not like me. :faint:

Welcome to all of the new members! Very excited to here from so many who seem to be in the same boat with our desire to lose. It is funny as I read through the posts to catch up, how many times I'd read a reason for wanting to lose & immediately relate to that very thing for myself. I too, hate the way I look in vacation pictures, & I don't want to feel like the stand out fat girl when looking in the 'regular' sized clothes area.

I've updated the status post on the 1st page with everyone's stats. Please double check to make sure I got yours right. There were a lot of them!

For me, I'm happy to say I finally broke the plateau I had been in for a few weeks this week. I'm now at a 22lb loss. I have a few days off so I'm really hoping to step-up the exercising while I have some time & hopefully push a few more pounds off. I've been on the fence for a few days about joining WW online. I really wish there were a few day trial or something to see if it was for me. I don't know if I'd stick with counting points. For me, the weight loss hasn't really been about food control. Sure I indulge a bit here & there that I could probably get rid of, but overall I watch what I eat & how much of it. I don't graze all day, I don't eat high fat foods regularly. The weight loss for me has been more about getting myself to move again. That's been the real battle. I think I've finally gotten to a place where it is just a regular occurrence in my day. :cheer2: Thank goodness. Now it just can't come off quick enough.

Oh, & Disneydee6, we may be there at the same time next year! :)

Congrats on breaking that plateau Cynister!! For me too the struggle seems to be about getting myself to move again. I had a really good week last week and I am hoping that means I am on my way to a good habit!

I am encouraged by your success! :thumbsup2

Congrats Cynister! :thumbsup2

I've been working to move more, but my hunger levels have also increased, and I've been struggling with going over my calorie range. I think I need to add more veggies to my meals. Plus, I stray more on the weekends, not good. I have a set meal plan for this week, and almost all meals are all prepared so I won't be tempted to stray after a busy work day. I'm hoping for another loss when I weigh in Thursday!

Hope everyone has a great week! :good vibes

Goal: 60 pounds
Lost: 2 pounds

Happy to report another lb lost this week bringing my total to 11lbs lost total. :cool1: Little Progress is better than none!

I am glad to see so many successes this week! :goodvibes

I went full force this week. I counted points on WW. I ate every daily point, every fitness point, and all but 10 weekly points (I like a little buffer in case I miscalculated somewhere). I ate brownies, cookies, pizza (real pizza, not Lean Cuisine), but I also ate a ton of fruit and veggies.

I exercised A LOT! I ran 3 times (32 minutes each), I walked over an hour and 10 minutes (as exercise, didn't count the 90 minutes I walked around Target shopping, etc.), had a dance party with the kids for 20 minutes, and did circuit training videos (about 45 minutes each) 3 times.

I lost 5 lbs! This brings me to 70.6/100 :cool1:

I had a good day yesterday, but today is very rainy, so we will see what exercise I end up doing.

Awesome, wow! So great when hard work pays off. Major congrats!

I've been upping my workouts, but I'm still struggling with being hungry. I made a good decision tonight to not eat 2 servings of pizza and instead to add steamed broccoli as a side, along with a garden salad. And instead of sitting and watching TV when the oven was heating up and the pizza was baking, I did aerobics. Small steps! I'm hoping the scale shows a loss when I 'officially' weigh in on Thursday!

Everyone is doing so well this week, congratulations to everybody! I have no loss to report this week. I haven't exercised as much as I should because my week has been filled with migraines unfortunately. I'm feeling a little better today so I'll be out for my morning walk. Like a lot of you exercise is a big part of me losing weight, and just in general feeling well. Hopefully next week will show a loss. Im not discouraged though, I'm just really happy my head doesn't hurt today!

Progress has slowed a bit, and I probably am not updating here specifically every week, but besides that, I'm down 5/40 lb now, so another 1.6 down. At this rate, I would hit my goal in 21 weeks, which is mid-March, so I've got aa bit of wiggle room.

Still counting calories and working out, though I've slacked some this week since I feel just exhausted.

Checking in. I am now at 71/100 lost. A really small loss this week (0.4) even though I have been counting points and exercised 6 times (3 runs, 3 circuit training DVDs). But I lost 5 lbs last week, so it kind of makes sense to be a little smaller loss this week.
