Hello! First post but I have been reading the Disboards for information for awhile now! I decided to join the party and finally post! My question is which moderate resort are we more likely to get connecting rooms? Do certain resorts have more connecting rooms than others? We are most interested in Port Orleans French Quarter or we may stay at the suites in the new resort Art of Animation.

Disney knows it will get families - so all their resorts have connecting rooms.

the problem getting one - if you are a single parent then you will have a guaranteed connecting room. If there are two adults or more - you may get a connecting room or an adjoining room - so no guarantees.

disney wants an adult over 18 in each room.

know that POR has several in most of their building - so pretty sure that POFQ does too.

if your party is all adult - unless you are very lucky - you can forget connecting rooms.

It is not guarenteed, but when we stayed at POFQ we got connecting rooms. We had 4 young children, so I was told they would make it happen. Now we did go at a non peak time, and I know people have horror stories, but it worked out well for us. I would say the majority of the times it does.

We've had adjoining rooms each time we've requested them. All the AS resorts, POFQ, and CB are the locations we were at. Not a problem, just be sure to ask when making the reservation.

Clarification: adjoining isn't connecting. The OPer knows this :) but it's possible not everybody reading the thread will. It's important to use the correct terminology.

EVERYTIME we have stayed at CBR, we were in a connecting room & had never requested one....we were not travelling with another family & did not need it.

I was wondering which moderate hotel would we have a better chance of getting connecting rooms at if we go during a crowded season? We are planning a spring break vacation back to Disney. We have been to Disney World before but this will be our first time trying out a moderate and we need two rooms this time.

looks like CBR - but it has no elevator - 3 floors

so can you go and down steps easily?

the mansion side of POR has elevators so does all the building at CSR.

think POFQ does too

that say with 4 kids you should be able to get connecting rooms

Everyone, thank you for your input! We are now thinking about the Wilderness cabins too.

I've stayed at CBR twice and I don't remember a 3rd floor. I've stayed on the 2nd floor in Jamaica and ground level in Martinique.
I just checked on the thread FAQ on CBR and it says.. "They are all 2 story buildings. They have no elevators."
