We will be in WDW in Feb for the Princess half. Our daughter will be turning 1 during that time and I was wondering logistics of traveling with her.

She will have a seat on the plane and we are bringing the travel system (stroller/car seat). We are staying off property the first 3 nights so we will be taking a cab from airport to hotel and then another cab to the Yacht club.

We can just install her seat in the cab correct?

I only made one dining reservation and that is for Boma - any tips on the easiest way to travel from Boardwalk area to AKL??? I really don't want to haul her car seat to dinner

If you take the Disney buses my understanding is she does not need to be in a car seat, you can hold her, or wear her in a Ergo type carrier.

Also my understanding is strollers need to be folded up to go on Disney transportation.

Have a blast!

I would seriously consider renting a car, specially if staying offsite. It is a must for little ones and Disney in my opinion. The extra money is worth the ability to leave and go as you please when you please, having the car seat installed and waiting for you. Cabs won't be cheap and you will have to wait, although not as much as buses.
Not to mention having to install the car seat in a different car everyday several times a day is going to drive you mad. You will have to do it if you are taking cabs with a 1 yo. If you stay onsite you don't need the car seat for the buses, but the wait for the buses is not compatible with how much a kid that age is reasonably able to wait

Thanks our first 3 days we will be staying walking distance to Downtown Disney she will be chilling with her Grandparents while I run the Princess...no parks those days.

I've never stayed off site and we drove down so I'm no help with the plane and cab.

However we used the buses at Disney without issue with a four year old and a almost two year old. Car seats aren't necessary on the buses and I would definitely not want to drag one on and off especially a crowded bus. You have to fold strollers so I recommend a baby carrier so one of you can wear her and one can lug the stroller on and off. It made things a lot easier for us also my daughter waited a lot better in a carrier then if she were down on the ground so we would get in line and start consolidating the stuff in our stroller back into our backpack then I would put her into the carrier while my husband collapsed the stroller. We also had an older child so I needed my hands free to help him on and off the bus but if you have one definitely bring a carrier. We have an Ergo, which you can sometimes find used for a good price.

We also used the carrier in the parks a lot. I would wear her while we waited in line for any ride that wasn't a walk on pretty much. She also napped in it a couple times while we were in line. There were also a few times that we would park our stroller somewhere for awhile and just use the carrier to get around. Made it easier when we were doing attractions that were close to each other.
