Getting a pin...

So, pins.

I understand that I can call and ask to be added to "the system," and also register on the website, create and save vacations, etc...right? I am more than happy to do all of the above, but I wondered: do most people receive (applicable) pins? Or can you do all those things and never receive one?

It's all over the place with PINs. I was in the Disney system for 2 years through the website, ordered DVDs each year and got two for times I couldn't use. Then I called to check for one, was told I wasn't in the system and then got myself added in. Less than a week later I magically got a PIN for room discount for the dates I'd added on the website. Then again there are people who have been waiting for years and have never gotten one!

I'm a newbie and I have probably received at least four PIN's, either from playing on the site non stop or who knows, i have ordered the dvd and planned tons of possible trips, so I do think it works, figures not one I've been able to use yet, ha ha, and I"m in the blackout date for the supposed FD coming out tomorrow too Just called them this morning to check on anything on my account and had nothing, she told me to keep my eyes peeled though

Just got a PIN today... Its for 35% off from 8/2011 to 10/2011 in Disneyland. I'm not going to go because I already have a Disney World trip booked for 01/2012 for 14 days! Strange that they sent me a deal for these dates.

Besides being usable for the dates listed, are PINs good for anything else? or should I just throw it away?

To be eligible, I think you have to do all of that. After that, it's entirely random. No way to guarantee getting one at all. Many people are frustrated at not getting one. I'm self-appointed president of the no-PIN club. Give it a go, then let me know if you need to join my group later........
