getting a height measure for a 4 year old

Putting on my lawyer's cap, I would imagine that two measures done by two separate CMs is something a lawyer came up with because it serves as a Q&A check, so that the safety of their youngest, smallest guests aren't being left to just one person's judgment. This ensures maximum safety to the guests by minimizing possibility of injuries, and thus minimizes risk to the company. This isn't about maximizing guest satisfaction, it's about maximizing guest safety.

Well one issue is that parents have been known to sneek their too short child past the first cm. The second measure is considered the official measure. The first one is a courtesy to make sure it's possible to ride at all i have seen where the first CM tells them that the kid is close but they will check for real at the loading perform.

I totally get that and am certainly glad for their safety concern....and i am certanily not saying it is wrong....again...i'm not trying to buck the system one bit

here's to hoping that my kid grows to 45 inches so that i don't have to worry so much :thumbsup2

Favorite picture of my son ~ Finally tall enough to ride BTMRR after a year of eating broccoli...

I dont recall being double measured. I was sharing this picture to show you that they measure you out at the front of the ride, BEFORE you wait on the whole long line, so that you wont waste your time...But it looks like people are saying you can be measured twice. I dont remember that.

Good luck!

My 4 year old (she turned 4 while we were there) was about 39" at home barefoot. We just came back from the parks and she went in her favorite dansko clogs because that's all she likes to wear and refuses to wear sneakers. She measured perfectly just a hair over the 40" and was able to go on everything that required a 40" measurement. She was only actually measured at the beginning of the line and the strictest measurement was at Star Tours where they measured her twice. Her favorite rides are now BTMRR and ToT! She talks about the disappearing ghosts on ToT nonstop.

If your kid is 40" barefoot and you have a accurate measure, I'm pretty sure they won't have a problem going on anything even in sandals.

One thing we practiced at home was standing up big and tall with no tiptoes. She was happy to stand up tall everytime she was asked.

She's a little thrillseeker. Next milestone will be 48". I have a feeling that SM is going to be too tame for her liking, haha.

~Awww, love the pic! ^^^ He's so adorable and just too cute!!!:goodvibes

~Awww, that's too cute. Well, the only two rides at WDW that have a 48" height restriction are Rock n Roller Coaster and Primeval Whirl. I don't know if you're talking about Space Mountain or Splash Mountain, but your DD can ride Splash now! That drop is so terrifying to me, every time! :lmao: Space Mountain is only 44", I just don't like how the seating is arranged -- I wish it was set up like the Disneyland version. :goodvibes
