So, today I read an article in the news that reminded me of Millie.

Millie was a rescue dog that came to live with us. We ultimately had to give her up because she was terrified of men - and I could see why. Her previous owners, all men, tortured her badly and left her to drown slowly and horribly in a sump pit when she was rescued.

She was so darling...
