We're now considering all different things for our trip to Disneyland.. so I looked at Castle Inn (Is this place nice?) - Anyways it was going to cost us for 5 $1081 for the 7 night stay. Then I checked out Getawaytoday.com and we can get tickets for the 4 of us that need tickets AND the 7 night stay at Castle Inn for $1347!!!!

The price is $1347 and includes $782 of ticket price - So only $565 for a week at the hotel! That is only $15 more for the week than Motel 6!!

AMAZING DEAL!!

Isn't the DIS Grand :) We teach lots of cool tricks :) Try doing a search.. its not one of the name brands on here people talk about a lot but you never know whats in the search forum :)

I would price hotel and tickets seperately. They're rarely cheaper together.

Also, I would avoid castle inn. There have been some very sketchy reports on it (someone on trip advisor said bedbugs, people here have said it's very dirty).

I've heard the same thing. Careful of the critters you may bring home. It looks cute from the outside, like a castle...but it's what lurks beneath the sheets I'd worry about. Definitely check trip advisor.

Luckycharms2010 if you go with Getaway purchase there unlimited changes package($35) that way if a ticket special comes about or a hotel special... you can change your information and get the discount. We were able to get our tickets to 6 for 4 after I purchased the package and changed our hotel also when the deals came about. They are very friendly and everything was a non-issue. I really like Getaway Today.

I would not stay at the Castle Inn again. We did several years ago. The carpet and motel in general was filthy.

Stay away from the Castle Inn ~ try other places through GAT, but as a PP mentioned I usually find that it's better to book my hotel myself *usually by calling the hotel directly ~ the 714 number, not a 800 number; and then buying our PHs from the cheapest source possible ~ which might be GAT. Also to help spread the cost I'll buy 1 PH per month ~ I've had to buy 3, so 3 or 4 months out from our visit I buy one PH, the next month the 2nd and then 1 month to go or right before I buy the last PH we need.

As you can see from this post and the buggy one. That's why it's so cheap, not because Get Away Today got you a special rate.

I haven't stayed at the Castle, but after those negatives, I should tell you that the Motel 6 right near the parks is well known to be a rather decent one. It was the first M6 to be updated and renovated, it's now a "European" style design in the rooms, pretty cool! I'd stay there happily, even with the extra bit of a walk.

I have stayed at Castle Inn twice. The first time I didn't know anything about the locations of the hotels. Realized once I was there that there were a lot of closer hotels. Decided I probably wouldn't stay there again. We weren't dissatisfied, it was fine. But on my next trip, the rate through GAT was so awesome that I stayed again. It was just fine again for that trip. Friendly staff at the front desk. I would go again for the right price. It provided a bed and a shower which was all I needed!

It's amazing what a bit of research and asking some questions will do to help your vacation. Look into trip advisor as well for more hotel reviews and pictures.

:scared1: Yikes! If these DISers are telling you to avoid Castle Inn, I think you should listen - they really know what they're talking about. Scary stuff - bedbugs and dirty carpets are nothing to overlook in a hotel.

We love getawaytoday.com too. Have you looked at staying at their other hotel offerings? We booked the Sheraton Garden Grove with them (hotel only). 4 nights for $360. Includes free parking, free shuttle, kids 9 & under eat free. Really nice place and a new property.

I've stayed there many times in the past and my whole family seemed to enjoy it. no complaints and it's very close!
I guess my view on this place is very different from other DISers!
I actually just booked it for my March visit and my sister booked it for her visit in February!
But when I stay somewhere I am mainly looking for a place to sleep and get ready in the morning that is close enough to walk to DLR & not expensive. I don't spend time in the room other than that.

edit: Just checked trip advisor because I felt maybe my experience in the past at this place weren't accurate for more recent times based on what others have been saying, but all the recent reviews are positive, with the exception of a few of course. I was getting a bit worried but those reviews made me feel good about booking this place. Just depends on your expectations I guess!

I have been able to find nice cheap hotels with bidding on priceline. $39 a night for 3* holiday inn resport. :D

Or I really like the hotels on Last Minute travel. They are a little more ($50 per night ish) but you can see pictures of the hotels before they give you the name. And if you get to know the hotels around here you can figure out what they are.

Also I havent stayed there but if we stay for a long time we might is the Hotel Pepper tree or Lemmon Tree. It has a full kitchen and big room for $50 a night. But you would have to drive to get to the parks.

Just my thoughts :)

I find Get Away Today's prices excellent. Packages from Disney are usually not the greatest deal. But Get Away Today is different. I was looking at the Sheraton Park, and through GAT the cost for 7 nights for 4 of us with Park Hoppers is $1675. Just to book the hotel by itself was $1595.36. So getting 4 6-Day Park Hoppers for $80 is a pretty good deal in my book.

Hmmm- we are booked in the Castle Inn Feb 23-26..I am bit nervous now... :confused3

have you guys looked at costco travel? a few days ago I priced a 6 day park hopper for 2 adults and 1 child plus 4 nights at paradise pier for ~1400. that includes a character meal and $20 disney gift card. I didn't book it because the hojo special rate is better for us but sounds like a good deal. i think the other hotels I looked at closer were around $1100 and there were some that were in the $900 range.
the tph for us come to close to $600 so not a bad deal overall

This is a neat tip **~** it tells you how to know what you're "buying" on LMT before you actually purchase it!

We love Costco Travel because you can prepay your vacation in increments with no interest.
