Get paid twice a month....having a hard time with budget

You can call and have your due dates switched around. Probably won't work with a mortgage or rent payment, but everything else is negotiable.

DH just got a new job and we are in the same boat, It is really tough subbing so i can get some ideas!! Thanks all!!!

My husband and I get paid on the 15th and the last day of the month. We just split our bills depending on the due dates. Anything due between the 1st and 15th get paid from the check that comes on the last day of the previous month. Anything due from the 16th to the end of the month gets paid from the checks we receive on the 15th. On pay day I figure out what bills need to come out and pay them so they won't be late. It works for us at least.:confused3

Imagine if you waited to put gas into your car until you ran out of gas. You would be adding a bunch of needless stress in your life, even if you spent the exact same amount on fuel over the period.

If you are living paycheck to paycheck, spending it all and waiting till the next one comes in, you are complicating your life for no good reason. The mentality that money in the bank is money to be spent creates a cycle of endless poverty.

You can change your view of money from a source of spending to a means of storage of your past hard work that can buy you time, time that can greatly reduce your stress. If you spend all you earn, particularly if you tie up all your earning into fixed monthly spending like rent, car payments, credit card payments, etc, you will never make any headway towards becoming financially independent. Even animals have instinctual behavior to save in plentiful times to survive during lean times. If a squirrel can store nuts, ask yourself why can't you save money? Nobody else will do it for you.

Or not. If you need extra drama in your life, running out of money with several weeks to go til' the next paycheck is a good way to do it.
