I can't believe it. He said, finally, that he's interested in someday buying a timeshare. I said, where? He said Disney. I almost fell off my seat. I've only been trying for a year and he kept looking at me like I was an alien . How do I get him to make that final step? Any help? thanks. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc :bounce: I had to put these in for my pumpkin (dd) who is sitting on my lap as I type.

Quick! Order the information and call a guide! I always say it is best to strike while the iron is hot!:hyper:

I already have all the info on DVC and resales. He would just never want to look. I think I'll wait until after xmas to spring it on him again. princess: :Pinkbounc :bounce: (my dd again)

Hi,

Good luck! Pixie Dust coming your way!!!!

try to schedule a trip for the DVC resort you want to buy (SSR is the only thing DVC is currently selling) - rent points from a DVC member so it won't cost as much - and let him try it out - if that doesn't work - give up.

DVC resorts are the best sales force that Disney has - they generally sell themselves....

Sorry, I just had to post that this and your first post gave me a nice smile! I've never thought of "entertaining" the little ones while posting!

Here's a couple more for DD!

Better yet, tell him that's what you want for Christmas! We took friends with us for the Millennium Celebration 1999/2000 and, and they enjoyed it so much the husband purchased a resale for them as a Christmas gift. She was THRILLED! Put a bug in his ear, and have him come here for support!

I've been working on my husband since '92 or something like that. He wanted to invest the money in stocks instead blah blah blah. Well I finally go him to realize it was an investment, not one which makes a ton of money, but an investment into our family time. One day he didn't say "NO" right away and I knew I had a chance to work on him. He was beginning to contemplate the idea.

This is what pushed my guy over the edge. I did those free quotes for just the resorts on the Disney website for 8 nights at several resorts, including the GF concierge and a couple DVC resorts studio and 1 bedroom. Then I showed him the quotes for each and told him how much a 50 yr DVC would cost at SSR for 150 pts. Not including the maintenance costs (I figured I'd work on that later), we would have the timeshare paid off in 4 or 5 yrs. We knew we would visit WDW more than 5 times in our lifetime w/ 2 small children. Also, the rule of thumb is.... If you visit for a week every other year or more and stay at a moderate to a deluxe resort, then it is worth it.

Once he perked up a bit and began listening to me, I showed him the threads of people who were thrilled w/ their purchase (easy to find), and I sent him to work w/ the financials that some posters posted. I found he had read them that day when he was bored and waiting for his computers to back up. After that it was smooth sailing and I can't imagine why it took us so long to decide in the first place. I didn't push though, just slipped him some info here and there until he started coming to me to ask for more.

Hope this helps you with some ideas. Good luck and I hope you will become a neighbor soon.

If my dh bought, then anyone can!!!! He never even 'got' the whole Disney thing. Then, something happened in August while we were in WDW and now we own at BWV!!! I agree, tell him that's all you want for Christmas and the next 5 birthdays!!!! Good luck.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Get the vacation club video, call the number and have him talk to the DVC specialist. They were really great on the phone!

50-70 pt resale and rent any additional pts. needed
point out that the initial outlay is low, then you can add on at bcv or any resort you like as and when you want to.

I can definetly relate to this. We first saw the OKW DVC when they first went on sale and I just loved the grand villas and thought we should buy as our kids were babies then. Well husband wasn't interested but we did go every other year to Disney (Contemporary, Ft. Wilderness Cabins, and Polynesian) but it wasn't until this past April when we were there Easter week when we walked into the Atrium of the Wilderness Lodge and I saw my husbands jaw drop. It was at that moment I knew he was FINALLY ready to buy. So we made an offer on a resale, and hopefully it will come through and be our family's Christmas gift to eachother this year.

Thanks everyone. I really got some great ideas. As for christmas, I already thought of that. Maybe I'll try.

Agree that the product sells itself, try it and that should do the trick. Good luck!!
