Check In: Well, finally I have a week without a disaster! :rotfl: It's about time.. There's only so much drama one can take.

And I have some great news. I've continued to lose weight and there's several milestones I've reached. First, I lost a total of 4 pounds this week, for a total of 12 since we started. However, over the holidays, I had been flirting with 200, so officially I've lost over 20 pounds! I'm in the 170s now. Whoot! Whoot! (I know it's just a number, but it's nice to finally dip below the 180s) And, I weigh the lowest I have since I got pregnant with my son about 13/14 years ago! I weighed 175 when I got pregnant with him, so if I lose only 5 more pounds, I'll be the lowest I've been in about 18 years.. That's mind blowing..

For this week, I'm going to continue what I'm doing since it seems to be going well. I'd like to add more strength training, though. Even though I'm losing weight now, my core feels weak. I think it's the surgery still. So I'm going to look at the ab challenge WAHkoMom & rebeccam31 talked about and maybe try it out. How are you guys doing with that? Are you noticing any results?

I forgot about the Ab challenge, so I jumped in on day 3 and went from there. I find it's getting easier and my abs do already feel a *tiny* bit tighter. I've also started a training app to try to speed up my 5K pace. I just have two days in, so I don't know if it's working. ;) I will say that the method makes sense to me, so I'm hopeful. Next race is in mid-July. Hoping to come in under 30 minutes. Eating choices have been mostly good. :)

Jeff Galloway's Easy 5K. He's the official guy for runDisney. I have to say I'm really liking it so far, but it just EATS my battery. :( I don't know how I'll use it for longer runs when I build up.
 
Just found out something else I have to worry about. Can't even deal with it yet... So after dinner I ate some Doritoes and had half a rum and coke. But I pulled it back together and did my work out.. Sort of. Uugh

:( I hope everything's okay. Good for you for pulling it together. You've had more than your share of stressors lately. :/
 
Well, I now have to get in shape for July! We ran into a conflict, and we had to move our trip to July 22-25. Upside of this is that my daughter convinced my husband that we should stay in a club suite at the Beach Club, so woohoo!

I'm doing a TERRIBLE job with meal planning. Fortunately I'm still making mostly healthy choices, but ugh! I've been doing well with running. I'm trying to improve my 5K time now, and then I will work on adding distance. My daughter has started running with me, too, as she is joining the Jr. High cross country team. I <3 that!

Post-morning run today, we are going to work/ride the horses. Tomorrow I will not be able to walk. ;p

I've been working on improving my 5K time too with the 5K runner app. Only starting week two but not sure I'll even be able to fit it in with all the end of the school year stuff going on here. Will be running a 5K this weekend and my goal is to finish. I hope I can have a better time then the one I ran a few weeks ago but with the way things are going I think finishing is about all I'm going to manage.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I think I've leveled out a bit from last night. There's a lump in my breast we've been following. Yesterday it looked like it might be a little bigger. I decided since I've reach my max out of pocket already, now would be a good time to figure out what it is for sure rather than just wait and see again. So I'm going to schedule a biopsy. Hopefully it's nothing. That was added to a day where I'm trying to help my DD through finals and Lucy started limping again, and I just overloaded.

I exercised this am and will have my smoothie, so I'm just continuing on. It's hard to worry about FP+ and WL refurbs right now LOL!

Glad to hear your running is going well! Way to go! Rebecca, you're not allowed to leave this group, by the way :)

Finishing is a perfectly valid goal. I would like to improve my time but am happy to just finish.
 
Is it too late to join? I just found you and I'm heading to Disney August 16th. I have already been working out (walking and jogging). In a couple weeks, I am going to also add swimming as well. But many of my shorts are a little too tight and I need some motivation so I don't need to go buy new ones! I want to use that money at Disney! I see I should check in on the weekends. What else should I do to feet started with you all? Thanks!
 
Hi everyone It has been a few days since I last reported. I haven't worked out since last Friday and have to get back to it. Lately DH and I have been practising backing up our 5th wheel and do it for about 2 hours a nite. I would love to say we have gotten better but nope..LOL And last nite after we finally got it in the driveway I decided that I didn't need to lock in the landing gear and guess what happened....:( when DH unhooked the trailer went forward and down and landed on the truck bed and now we are having to find a way to jack the trailer up so we can get the landing gear locked and get it off the truck...needless to say I eat a whole bag of popcorn after that.

I feel stupid as I know you have to lock the gear but my brain went out for lunch and forgot to tell me.. As I always so go big or stay home...:rolleyes1

I did weigh myself yesterday and I am currently at 215 so that is good at least I didn't go back up. I hope to get the trailer all straighten out tonite and get a good walk in to work out some fustration.
 
I've been fighting a virus with flu like symptoms for a week and haven't run since last Monday. Today I found out I have Lyme's Disease. I'm crushed because I've worked so hard to get in shape and I feel it slipping away. My body needs a break and I'm afraid it will never get back to where it was. :(

I've been fighting a virus with flu like symptoms for a week and haven't run since last Monday. Today I found out I have Lyme's Disease. I'm crushed because I've worked so hard to get in shape and I feel it slipping away. Aww, that's a bummer! That's what I call"second moments". Those moments where you wish you could just have a few seconds in time back. A few seconds that would make such a huge difference. Hope everything works out.

Newbie here! so sorry to read of this. We are also going in August and I have been thinking about the walking and the heat and am motivated to get into better condition. Hope you start feeling better DisMom. Looking forward to reading the posts to see who is going where and when in August. :) Gram
 
Wow, that is scary for sure. I hope it turns out to be minor and easily correctable. I have had lumps removed twice, and both times they were benign fibrocystic masses. Wishing you the same sort of answers.
