Nell: I'll copy Dr. Teitelbaum's pages on D-Ribose and email you. He explains that this sugar which is found in muscles is what helps athletes recover. If your body doesn't make enough of it, there is nothing you can eat or do that will make it - except taking it directly. I felt better within 3 days of starting it. Diane wasn't too convinced I needed it so I did an experiment without it and I am much worse again. I can't do much of an incline on the treadmill without getting a cramp, sometimes I can get a muscle spam from brushing my hair. I can never stretch in bed when I wake up for fear of my back cramping up. These things were long gone when I was on it. I have to get back on that stuff.
lisa, please send it to me too zmemommy@aol.com. Don't get me wrong, I love Diane, but she didn't understand my caffiene problems at all. She's a dietician, not an alternative doc. She did say that to me so not so much gossiping as translating what she said to me. so if a doctor or someone who has studies this syndrome knows what to do , I would do it!
Ok, I'm going right now to fax!
I just thought that "Texan her face" had just spewed off randomly and based on that, GL decided to start a StepII thread. She sent out letters!? I guess I was on the outs more than I realized. No wonder!! And for the record.. picturing that Godiva ride got this gal through some pretty rough days! I'm an avid believer in laugher being the best medicine at times. Thanks to you all for being here, there, or anywhere!
The picture is more clear for me now.
