Geriatric MM Warriors!

I put organic basil sauce 6 carb from Trader Joes with some ground turkey and a lot of spinach. Tom had the leftovers tonight. It was great! I don't know what took me so long to get a spaghetti squash! We liked it even better than spaghetti. But then I eat a lot of grass:rotfl:
Lisa, eat all the grass you'd like. Just don't smoke any of it :lmao:

Sunnee: It's so good to see you over here where freedome reigns! How awesome about your results!:banana::banana:

I have been sleeping hours and hours. I must have slept about 20 of the last 24 hours. I get like this if I've gotten really stressed. I think my body needs it. A doctor did tell me once that she believed I had chronic fatigue, but I refused to label myself with something that really has no treatment. So I can identify with those of you that have it. I really think it's an endocrine disorder which equals Met B. By getting the insulin in a proper range I'm hoping that the rest of the endocrine system decided to jump on board! :dance3:

We are soo alike--I was told years ago that I have CFS and I too pushed it aside, thinking that this is just a label. Tell me you can heal me and then I'll believe it. Well, I'm really thinking about this more and more and it IS what I have along with fibro (did you say you had that?).

I'm soo excited because I went to the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers website and made an appointment to see a doctor about this. I was supposed to go to an alternative doc for my hormones but I think this will be even more comprehensive. Dr. Teitlebaum is chief doc there. They have centers in a few states. I have to go to Philly (King of Prussia). The first visit is free consultation and thats when they'll shock me withthe price!!! THe thing is, I have to do something to feel good again.

I know what you mean about sleeping--if I could I would SO sleep. Was thinking thismorning that I just want to get in bed and stay there but my sweet son needs me so I trudge along......

Feel better Nell, look into CFS more online--lets spend the rest of our lives feeling great!!:dance3:

:cheer2: Yeah!!! I found you guys!! Good morning  Funny this site almost looks like the other.

:grouphug:

Welcome Laura!
I hope you're feeling better!! Just wanted to say welcome home. So glad your here!!! Look at all the smilies---------------------------------------------->

Nell: I’ve had chronic fatigue since before it had a name, so on the other hand, it’s nice to have doctors at least recognize the existence of the syndrome and not treat you like you are crazy. There is a lot of treatment one can do of a natural sort. MM is a great first start for you. I would say listen to your body and rest when you need to. You might be crashing and burning a bit so if you could find a gentler way of exercising that you could do more often, it might make you feel better. How about yoga?? They offer it on TV quite a bit and it won’t make you sore. It’s strange how energized you can feel after moving so slowly. I have to think it has a lot to do with getting oxygen to all of your ‘parts’.

I'm off to turn in ad copy. It's brilliant thanks to my Mom who hasn't lost it at 73. She used to own an ad agency:wizard:

Lisa--so true about doctors poo pooing CFS--thats a big reason I did nothing for so long. Nell---one of the symptoms of CFS is an intolerance to strenous exercise. Definitely do something lower stress for your body.

Lisa--I want SO BAD to be like your mom when I'm 73!! I've shared that my mom is starting to lose her memory, what makes it so different for different people?

Barb: I lost a bit more after I started the middle of the night 3 bites of banana. Coincidence? I don't know, but you might want to try it. It can't hurt or Diane wouldn't be doing it herself every night. I used to guard my sleep like a warrior because if anything woke me up, I'd have the hardest time going back to sleep. I think those 3 bites help me sleep better, even though I HAVE to wake up to brush my teeth again. I thought I would try it for a few days and I'm pleased with the outcome, so maybe you should give it a try??

I'm usually up once a night to go to the bathroom so I think I'll give it a try. 3 bites of banana are 11-20?

My ex-husband and I seperated in 2001. He will not sign the divorce papers. Nothing left to fight over (which I didn't even fight), he just won't sign. He has been in Pittsburgh for the last 5 or 6 years. He just won't sign them. Guess I'll have to dish out more money and just take him before the judge. This divorce thing has been a real nightmare. He wouldn't even sign the papers to sell the house, then he declared bunkruptcy. Real nightmare.

girl, you have been through too much. "Lord, I lift up Kathy and I ask you keep her strong through her trials--in Jesus' holy name, AMEN"

:lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

When my Mom asked the doctor in KY to prescribe melatonin for my grandfather so he would stop walking the halls at night he called her a 'pot smoking hippie from CA'!! Then he prescribed the melatonin, LOL! Yeah, we just eat grass and not the kind you put in brownies!:rotfl2:

you CA people are sooo lucky, everything alternative starts over there!!! I'd move there but we keep hearing you guys are going to eventually be in the Pacific Ocean!! heehee (ok, thats a rumor!)

Half of a smallish banana. I do it in 3 bites so I don't have to chew for too long, LOL! I hate to wake up!:cloud9:

Natalie: I wish I had gone to one of those clinics so long ago! You are going to feel so much better! There were so many days I was afraid to make a commitment into the evening because I knew I would be exhausted. I almost never feel like that any more. I do think I am going to work D-Ribose back into my carbs. It's 3 and my vitamins are 3, so I have to space it out. I stopped the D-Ribose on Step 1 and I am having a lot more muscle pain now, so I know I need it. It helps us recover from activity, Nell. So glad we all found each other!

Oh, and I want to be like my Mom, too! I think time is on our side and that in the next few years there will be great inroads in curing dememtia. My Dad is the one that is scaring us sometimes. Mom is losing her hearing. It's always something we have to worry about with our parents as they get older!

Well, I feel great right after I do my dancing exercising, it's the next morning that it feels like a truck hit me. I'm going to look up D-Ribose and see what it is.

Good day everyone! You all are so funny! I sit and chuckle at almost every post.

I've been posting like mad this morning over on the MM forum. I can't say I'm crazy about it, but I can't get past wanting everyone to be as successful as we've been. What I'm really not liking is when someone just starts a new thread instead of inserting it into general discussion or Step threads. Grr! And I have to agree with you all about the 'tweaking' everyone seems to want to do to make 'legal cheats'.

I'm back on Step I for at least ten days. So far no problems, headache or hungry's.

I just wanted to put this out there for you all, something to ponder. Back after GL made her declaration and you all quit posting?.. My first thought was that you'd all gathered somewhere else. I was saddened by it and a little hurt because I hated like anything that we'd separated. I would never had mentioned losing you guys either because I just felt it was your right to do what was best for you. I can't say for sure but I imagine they've probably thought the samething. I will continue with both the new forum and here if you all don't mind. I don't want any of you to feel as though I'm a trader for doing this. I love you guys and credit most of my success with this WOL to those of you here. :grouphug: As long as I have the need to 'pay it forward' I will continue to post in both forums.

Hi Laura, I see no advantage over there either, I'm glad you made your way over! :dance3:

Please don't feel as though we think you shouldn't post on the other forum. I also go over and post. I did keep my same screen name. I won't post that much, but if someone has a question and I'm able to answer, I will. But I will be feeling it out for a while. But to be honest, just my first reaction is that I won't be there long. It's really sad too.

{{{LISA}}} a big hug to you for telling me I'm going to feel so much better!! Love you! I feel exactly as you described, don't make plans because of my fatigue. I hardly talk on the phone anymore to people--just too much energy expanded! I really think that this is it--finally the place I need to go to. I did read that Dr. Teitlebaum really likes using the D-Ribose. guess I'll find out all about that soon.:woohoo:

sorry to hear about your dad, I know theres supplements that help somewhat, don't remember right now--would he be willing to take something?

Kathy, I have not been ignoring your question about how to make herbal vinegars and oils. I keep meaning to write on it. It's very complex, but I'm thinking of medicinal ones. If you'd like to use them for cooking, it's just a matter of picking the fresh herbs an putting them in a jar in a way that is pretty. With oils, if you want to make an oregano flavored oil for example, you want to squish the fresh leaves in your hands then release them to stay on the little branch your putting in. Crushing them a bit will allow the flavor to get in the oil. Vinegar will extract the flavor on it's own so you don't have to squish them.

If you want to make a medicinal vinegar, like say you retain water and you want to make a dandelion vinegar, then you would take apple vinegar without an active culture. The kind you buy at the supermarket, not a health food store. Then you would chop the herb, in this case dandelion into little pieces, root and all and jam pack a jar to the top. Then add vinegar until you can close the jar with vinegar leaking as you close the lid. In other words, leave no air. Put in on a shelf and let it age. The longer it ages, the stronger the herbal dose. To use medicinal vinegars, you just add a spoon or two to water and drink the water. It doesn't make it taste really funky Pony. :lmao: I know Robin is freaking here!

The only thing is with medicinal vinegars, you have to be careful to look up what parts of the plant you use. In dandelion the leaves and flowers have a lot of nutrition and the roots have the diuretic, so you use the whole thing because the vitamins/minerals are good to add to it. Some plants though, the leaves are medicinal the roots can be dangerous and vice versa. So be careful to look up herbs that your not really familiar with.

Yes, that's part of the syndrome, if you have it. It's not an immediate reaction. Whereas other people can bounce back from strain, we actually might be much worse from it and take days to recover.

Well, a doctor did tell me a long time ago that I did. From what I understand there's no test for it, so I may try that D-Ribose and see if it makes a difference. The label doesn't matter to me so much as feeling good. Following this WOE is making a huge difference. I don't have the amazing energy that I hear others talking about. There's a huge improvement though. I just realized it's been a very long time since I woke up and thought, oh no not again. :flower3:

Nell: I'll copy Dr. Teitelbaum's pages on D-Ribose and email you. He explains that this sugar which is found in muscles is what helps athletes recover. If your body doesn't make enough of it, there is nothing you can eat or do that will make it - except taking it directly. I felt better within 3 days of starting it. Diane wasn't too convinced I needed it so I did an experiment without it and I am much worse again. I can't do much of an incline on the treadmill without getting a cramp, sometimes I can get a muscle spam from brushing my hair. I can never stretch in bed when I wake up for fear of my back cramping up. These things were long gone when I was on it. I have to get back on that stuff.
