Geriatric MM Warriors!

I sent Nell, Natalie and Kathy the scan of the pages from the book on D ribose. Let me know if you didn't get it for any reason. It's in pdf format.

Lisa, I got it. Thank you! It was very sweet of you to take the time to set that file up and send it. I'm going to read it over tonight.

Thank you for hoping everything goes ok with me getting into nursing school. It helps my confidence.

Hi Lisa and Nell. It appears you are both still posting.

I think it is late for most people. I just got on the computer so haven't read through everything. I'll peruse as the evening goes along.

Hope everyone had a good day.

Hugs to all.

Hi Jocelyn! :wave2:

Lisa, when researching ribose many sources say it has a zero glycemic effect. But then studies on animals show increased plasma insulin concentration. I think if I try it then it can't be very soon as I'm trying to get the insulin down.

Hi, Jocelyn! We took a hot tub and had a long chat tonight. It was a great way to wash away some of the stress. My back feels a lot better! Hope you all have a nice rest and a great tomorrow. I get to go back up into the foothills. I love driving through all the changing leaves. I guess you don't get a lot of that, huh, Jocelyn??!!:beach:

I was really wondering about that after re-reading everything tonight. It's not metabolized like a sugar. I was wrong about my carbs on the label; it's 5 for the 5 gram serving, but maybe we don't need to count it?? I think I would be able to add it on like at lunchtime with no trouble, nevertheless. I'm getting some more tomorrow. If you decide to use it, get the kind where you can measure the 5 grams he recommends. They come with different sized scoopers so I look for the 5 to be easy. Drs. Best is the brand I use.

Ok, I just messed with my post while you were posting. There's evidence that it can increase circulating insulin found in animal testing.

Hey!! Anyone still up? Back from the gym and already know I wont be talking to Ken this evening, so now I am already BORED!! Im so wound up when I get home from working out I cant go to sleep right away so here I am...at least I know Jocelyn is probably still here somewhere!!

Gena and EVERYBODY - it is so amazing that it seems we are all spiritual people and our FAITH is probably one reason we are all here together...I really do believe that God put you all in my path for a reason, and I am SOOOO GRATEFUL to Him for all of you!! He is truly a great and glorious God and we are so much better off when we can give ourselves up to Him and let him guide and protect us.:littleangel:

Nell - thanks for thinking of me, but busy at work means a good paycheck for Pony! so as much as I grumble and moan about it, I really am glad we are still a financially sound company and our jobs are secure!:cheer2: BTW, I think you make a great princess!!

Cindy - hows the detox going?

Kathy - the archangel Michael happens to be the Patron Saint of Police Officers, and I am wearing the St Michael's medal that I received when I graduated from the police academy STILL...its almost 30 years old and I would feel naked without it. They made me take it off for the Ct scans I had when I had my pumonary embolism, and I was so upset they let me hold it in my hand instead! I will send your hellos to Ken when we talk tomorrow, and its funny, but he doesnt like it much there either! He only likes the $$ they are willing to pay for his engineering expertise!:woohoo:

Lisa - I most certainly have NOT corrupted Kathy, she is perfectly capable of corrupting herself!! :dance3: We are partners against eating grass!!

Jocelyn - Its not late for me, since I usually dont go to bed until around midnite-1am Eastern time...its nice to see you here when I get home!!

I commented on Tom's FB page and asked where he was! He said hes been reading but not posting so I told him he needs to at least check in and let us know how the wedding plans are going...its almost the big day!!

They are still going on about all kinds of stuff they are eating that NO WAY we would consider legal! so, good luck to them, and Im staying right here. :snooty: thats me being snooty with my nose in the air! LOL

I am going to go to bed though, I am OFF tomorrow, so more cooking and stuff to do, might as well get a little extra shut eye for a change!!

Have a great night, see ya in the morning!

Good night Pony and everyone! :grouphug:

Sorry I wasn't on when you got back Robin as, yes, I am ususally on. However just got back and it is now 10PM here so really late there. I was thinking about going to the "new" place, but think I will wait until I have more time. I am supposed to play bridge with DH tomorrow so need to get some sleep!! I am having my mocha shake right now so will have to go to bed soon!!

It will be late before I get on tomorrow, too.

Lisa, we were in CA until November last year - they replaced the elevator in our building so we were there 5 months. The fall colors were wonderful. We drove to Carson City to play in a bridge tournament the end of October and the colors of the trees in the mountains were really lovely. We also had to spend an extra day in Carson City as it started to snow and the rental car did not have chains!!

The only seasons we notice with the plants are when different trees are in full bloom here. We do not miss yard work, but I do miss a lovely lawn - our condo does not have any. A lawn surrounds the pool where I swim and is right on the beach too, so best of both worlds. If there are too many kids in the pool I go into the ocean.

The place we live in here we fist saw as an open house we walked into - the odds are improving for you!!!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday. Will "see" you all later in the day!

Lisa, when I lived at my other house, I bought a whirlpool tub (a perk of working at lowes. it only cost me $100 on clearance) When Mike and I installed it, we put in my old closet in the bathroom. We put the spigot up high, and we both could sit in it at once.
We had some of our most intimate, close conversations in that tub. He had one at his house also, and the same thing there. I really miss those conversations of no one bothering us. It was just him and I sitting there, getting a whirlpool and just relaxing and talking. We talked about every little thing on our minds, no matter how dull or dumb.
We want to eventually get a hot tub. I'd love one. when the people I clean for go on vacation, I house and animal sit for them. They have a sauna and hot tub and have told me many times to help myself. So we do. They are such great people. They are very generous with their money helping less fortunate people out.

Good morning everyone!!! I hope all went well for you all last night. I got a great night's sleep. I feel sooo good this morning. But as we all know, that tired feeling can hit you out of no where, so I'm enjoying each moment as it comes.
I hate to say it, but Robin didn't corrupt me. I was corrupted as a teen ager. Not too badly though. Thank goodness.
I have an awesome drink for the godiva ride. It is called a Hawaiian Breeze. It has a shot of coconut rum, a shot of southern comfort, a shot of grenadine, and then fill it up with orange/pineapple juice. I love it!! There is another drink on the same lines that I love too. I'll have to find it and post it too. Oh and a Bud or Michelob is good too. Don't like the layout at all either. I did post a hi to but that was about it.
I also don't think I'll be going to the other site much either. Just
Off to get ready for work. A short day today. Should be done around noon or 1. Then I have to clean up the house. It is a disaster in here!!
Have a great MM day everyone.

Good morning everyone! :wave2:

It's so funny that you all are talking about hot tubs. I just got into my jacuzzi tub yesterday for the first time this season. We installed a two seater in our master a couple years ago and I'm the only one that uses it! I've tried so many times to 'entice' DH into it with me but it's always a no go. It embarrasses him for some silly reason, makes me laugh! (I'm thinking it's because the man doesn't have a romantic bone in his body, I love him to death though!) And it sure doesn't keep this old gal from using it!

I'm a not a drinker but some of the things you all are talking about is making me want to try! lol :drinking1 J/K!! That's me with my Slimfast!!

Talking about the new MM forums, it sucks, you guys are needed so badly over there. I stink so bad at giving advice and you all are so darn good at it. Poor Ruby started day one of StepII yesterday and was floundering so badly. I tried to calm and direct her to the info you all had given me, I don't know if she managed or not. I sure hope so! Don't misunderstand, I now understand perfectly why you're not, but know that you're needed.

I'm so excited that we're warming up a little bit for the next couple of days. It's felt like December around here all month! Things are always so ugly here during the winter. I always worry about getting that last mowing in before winter sets in, now it looks like I'll get'er done today and tomorrow. :cool1:

Robin, how do you feel about being back on Step I? This is my second day back on and it feels like coming home. I didn't understand what everyone meant when they said they liked it better, boy I sure get it now! The whole thing is such a no brainer. I need to branch out and become better at Step II foods before I head back there.

Okay, going over to see the new forums for a little bit, you all have a wonderful day! :grouphug:

Pam

Good morning, ladies (and Tom). Did you miss me yesterday? I REALLY missed you! I was in court all day and then had a meeting last night. I was too tired to even say goodnight. I am off to an early morning meeting, then court again. I should be in my office sometime this morning and hopefully, I will have time to catch up.

:guilty:Put on your MM plan hats. I spend a lot of time last night re-reading step2 and then looking back at what I've been eating. Not only have I had KW pumpkin pie twice, pumpkin soup numerous times but I've had acorn squash 3-4 times :scared1: I don't know what it is with squash and me but it seems I've od'd on the stuff. Always as an 11-20. After Diane's response to Pony, I'm wondering if I've caused my L&P to wake up too suddenly instead of gently as she recommends for step2 :confused3. I think I got suckered into the 5x5 blatant carb response she gave and people at the other board started using as a way to eat whatever they wanted. This might explain my expanding waist. My liver is in high glucose holding mode :sad2: I don't want to bother Diane with this. Would you all put your heads together and based on your experience with Diane responses see if you think I need to do some sort of back to step1 detox?

:guilty::guilty::guilty:
