Geriatric MM Warriors!

Robin--I have noticed in the past that the weekend is a slower time. lets see what happens tomorrow and next week.

You know, I hate to say this, but Georgia seems to be posting more than she ever did--I mean, is it just me or did you guys notice she would only post once every few days before and now shes answering peoples questions and responding more.....things that make you go hhmmmmmm.............

I think that it's really obvious that we're not very active over there so Georgia and K.W. also are trying to get to all of the questions themselves. I can't spend much time there. I get a knot in my stomach.

Good evening friends,

I've been busy all day changing over to fall/winter in my closets. It's amazing how many clothes I've past right up and have to get rid of. One of my girlfriends is going to be very happy. Stuff with the tags still on! I still can't get my "small" good pants around my waist but I'm thinking they'll be good before winter's over. I'll finish step2, one month tomorrow. Can't say for sure how it's going. Today I had a feel fat day. Could just be sodium because I ate some canned soup last night. First time I've had processed soup in a long time and it really tasted weird.

Lisa, I don't know what to tell you about your minimal weight loss. Maybe you did need extra time on step1. Did you say you've had recent blood work that was ok? Too bad you have to wait for Diane to get back, it will be interesting to see what she says. The low end of my loss is about 6 lbs a month. I'll weigh Monday and see where I am. If I'm at 5-6 lbs I'll be very happy.
I made KWs pumpkin pie today. It is soooo good. I'm going to go over there and tell her thanks.
could be the soup, the canned ones always have a ton of salt. I've been reading alot of good things about himalayan salt, supposed to be good for you!:upsidedow

Evening Y'all,

I see more and more are joining the party:cool1:!! It is the chit chat so to speak that makes this thread so valuable. I appreciate the prayers and concern when it come to my Dad. I talked with him this afternoon about if he can't walk or get out of bed he can't stay at the ranch. I don't think getting 24 hr help in would do much and he doesn't want anyone there, except my mother.

Lisa, I don't know on the WL. I would be very interested in hearing what Diane says. The 26th isn't too long off and you can get an answer. I have to keep reminding myself this isn't a quick fix as so many programs are. The quick fixes are why we all put the weight back on.

Robin, when I are you having time to see Ken???????????? You are one busy lady.

Kathy, the wedding pictures are wonderful. I love the barn. What a neat place and everyone looks so happy. I love looking at pictures ............almost seeing into their soul at times.

Nell, great work on your test, I forgot to tell you. That is exciting to have your folks come for Thanksgiving.:thumbsup2

Cindy, just thinking of 5 kids wears me out these days!! Your story is a miracle in itself...........I know you appreciate everyday no matter what!

I need to bring the Zumba to our little Texas town:cool1:

I am beat and off to bed!

Gena

Gena--much prayers for your dad. its SO hard that our parents are getting older and having health issues. my moms memory is starting to go--I need to have a heart to heart with her about selling her house and buying in a adult community so she can have access to help. that should go over well:sad2:

That's what I use for our household. It costs a lot up front, but a bag lasts us about a year. :jumping2:

Hi Y'all! I survived the 12 hour workday which turned into 12.5 hours due to someone in California that HAD to have a motorcycle policy NOW so he could go ride tomorrow! OMG, took me the extra half hour to get him set up...no gym tonite its a scheduled day off, thank GOODNESS! Pony is very tired...:coffee: not too tired to play with the smilies though! LOL

Cindy - so now you know that the drama was just getting to be too much for us "geriatrics", so here we are, happy again and able to talk to each other about whatever we please! MM's still, but FRIENDS TOO!! I have done the detox before and it worked pretty well, but was also HARD to do for the whole week. Might try it again myself if it works for you though.

Nell - OK OK OK, I wont stay on step 1 forever...geez, Sis, but I WANT to!! I am obviously going to wait for Diane to return and then do whatever she suggests. Are those Davinci things sugar free? Splenda doesnt bother me when I have it only a couple times a week and Diane recommends it, I cant find any of the other fancy things like Stevia or whatever anyway!

Barb - cool beans about your clothes! I cant believe I just said cool beans...OMG I AM tired!!:rotfl: KW's pie sounds so good, it might be worth going back to step 2 just for that!

Gena - Not alot of time for Ken these days except by phone and e-mail...since he is in CHINA!! His company landed a big contract over there so he is working with a project development team for a couple weeks...

Natalie - praying for you to be hopeful and faithful that your visit with Diane will get you revved up again. It is so hard, this journey, so GRATEFUL for you and everybody here to wage the war together!:grouphug:

I still cant believe how slow it is over there...its never been THIS slow before...and yeah, seems like Georgia is the new team leader...even KW isnt posting much...think its worth trying to get her here? Im just afraid she might say something over there about it...probably well enough left alone for now.;)

Natalie: We have so much in common! I've been through all of the same things. I did get much, much better with a non-inflammatory diet from Dr. Perricone and then again probably 80% better with Dr. Teitelbaum and the supplements. I also went on bioidentical hormones. For me, it was about a lot more than just insulin. I know you are younger than I, but this did go on for many years. I'm glad you are getting a handle on it younger than I did. Yes, it was expensive. We've sort of gotten used to cutting out some of the other extras in favor of healthy food and vitamins. It's too bad it costs so much to not get sick, lol! Don't give up!:flower3:

I got my Teitelbaum supplements--how did you drink that multi?? Its soo sweet to me. but I want so bad to try it. I am taking the B vitamins that came with it.

It really is a shame if you want to get healthy it costs so much. I'm going to the doctor for bioidentical hormones. They're going to do neurotransmitter testing on me too--they feel that they are all related. They seem to follow Suzanne Somers latest book--we'll see--I refuse to feel like poop for the rest of my life :sad1:

You are so cute! My husband is obsessed with laundry! When he was in 5th grade he didn't put his clothes to be washed in the proper spot so his Mom made him wait to get clean clothes and he had to wear his underwear twice. Ever since he does his own laundry - like constantly! The second John-Paul walks though the door with his suitcase his Dad is asking him if he has any laundry. It's a hoot!:laundy:

oh that is so funny--but I totally get why he does it. Isn't it odd how we can be affected SO much by things like that?? I hope I don't give my son too many neurosis!!! :upsidedow

Don't you think its weird that nobody over there is mentioning the fact that any of us are missing? I know we are all still posting very occasionally, but I remember that before, whenever anyone was out of touch for even a DAY, we would all chime in and ask where they were, hoped and prayed they were ok...not a single person has said anything about the lack of posts or where the regulars posters are...of course maybe that is because the only ones that bothered to care enough to ask are right here!!:rolleyes

OK, Pony is going to sign out, go watch some TV and read to wind down...then off to Bed!! Ken is in another time zone so his calls come at weird hours now!:happytv:

Nite you guys! Talk to you tomorrow in between shopping cooking and playing with ponies!!

That's what I use for our household. It costs a lot up front, but a bag lasts us about a year. :jumping2:

I bought some last week and have been using it. It's funny and sad how much I know about health, but could never get healthy. I could never advise people for fear they'd look at me and think "why doesn't she listen to her own advice???". I AM going to lose this weight and then I WILL advice people about health and MM!:woohoo :pixiedust:

Pony – I think Netrition carries the Da Vinci with a flat shipping charge. There is a huge number of flavors. Yes, it is Splenda, but the liquid kind does not have the carbs the pourable kind has. It doesn’t take a lot to flavor something. I am running out of the ones I have. The flat shipping does not apply to HI !!! I get things when we are in CA and then bring them back with me. That is getting harder though with the luggage restrictions, too.

I am the one who doctors up the Atkins shakes.

Yes, the Atkins Vanilla shake would be a feebie.

Kathy, what is the pumpkin roll like? Is it a cake or a bread?

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Bev. Yes, you are young! We’ve been married almost twice as long!

Lisa – I certainly can’t advise you. I really haven’t lost much by scale weight, but I am getting into smaller clothes and my hubby says I look smaller as well as friends. I would really like to see the scale move down 10 pounds, but I would have to go really low carb to do that and then I am awake half the night. I also spend a lot of time at the gym and in the pool and know that helps. I have a close friend that is a fanatic about working out. She is NOT a Met B as she can eat anything. Her weight number is large but she wears a 2 or smaller. So…..I guess what I am saying is that it is NOT the number on the scale, but the size of our bodies that counts. I do know that a lot of meds impede weight loss as they hold on to fluids or just won’t let the weight go.

Nell – your yam recipe sounds wonderful and they are a lower glycemic food than a lot of things.

Cindy and Pam – isn’t it great to have our lovely site?

Again, thank you Bev and also for the recipe link. I need to go find it.

I noticed, too, that there were not as many posts on the other site – oh well. I wasn’t going to post there much anymore so this is perfect.

Time to go see about dinner for us.

Sweet Dreams Everyone

I forgot to mention how much we loved the spaghetti squash! Wonder what took me so long? I made it like the tag from Trader Joe's - prick 5 times with a fork and microwave for 12 minutes, rotating every 3 minutes. It was perfect and made so much. We have a full serving left over and Tom ate a huge plate. :dogdance:

GeorgiaLee has her kingdom to herself. I really don't mind. I'm a firm believer that things happen as they should. I just hope she learned some kind of lesson about railroading others from this. All we can do is protect ourselves from the poison. I know that sounds strong, but that's what it was. I even had a hard time sleeping, so Nell, I know what you mean about your stomach and you didn't even get one of her nicely worded letters. OK, enough said.:confused3:

:tigger:was John-Paul's imaginary friend for a good while. Once I told him to hold my hand through a parking lot and he said, "I can't. I'm holding Tigger's hand".

Its so true, only you guys! KW did ask about Lisa--but no one else is asking about any of us--I will not take that to heart :snooty:

Good night Jocelyn (love that name!!) :lovestruc

Pony: We are the elephant in the room on LCF - the ones no one is talking about. :dumbo:

Natalie: I am really getting into this idea of using all the smileys! It's so much fun and makes me feel like a kid. That's what Disney is all about. It's where we spent my 40th birthday. I wanted to feel young that day. princess:

Beverly: Hope you are having a wonderful time on your anniversary!

I have an Open House tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck. I need to sell this one quickly to help my clients get out from under the finanical burden of two houses.
Lisa

Pam!! hi! Yay you made it!! I for one am staying right here...limited to those regulars who got to be close friends and dont mind chatting about stuff that doesnt pertain to the plan!! Of course when and if Diane does the forum on the other site, I would check in there and see whats going on...

Anyone notice that we have more posts here in the past two days then the old thread has in the past week? Its like there is nobody there...kind of sad, but at least we are all together here!! I dont have time to play with the smilies here at work, but I have so much fun seeing you guys playing! Its like we are a bunch of little kids in a sandbox!!:rotfl2: And Im not sure about the dancing bananas!!

Kathy - you GO GIRL on that pumpkin roll...where did you get the Davinci syrups? Do I have to order them online and are they expensive? I would love to add some new tastes to my menu..

Lisa - I think I would stay put if I were you, until Diane responds with her opinion. I am just going to stay here on step 1 FOREVER...I have decided that I am just going to be a "flunky"!! But I LIKE it here!!!

Nell - Love the smiley laundry!!

Robin, if this got answered, sorry. I have it left over. I got it at walmart (ours is a super one) and they now carry Torani and is sweetened with splenda also. I got it by the powdered coffee creamers. My store has it on the top shelf. They have chocolate, hazelnut, caramel and vanilla. They are all good, but I didn't try the hazelnut, yuk!!
I use it in place of regular vanilla a lot of times. The s/f has the blue label.

Natalie, don't wait too long to have a good talk with your Mom. No, she won't like it but it becomes necessary. My Mom refused to move and we tried to keep an eye on her as best we could. We saw her mental capacity decline but didn't think it was too bad. She was finally forced to move when she started a fire because she forgot something on the stove. I'm not trying to scare you but at some point we have to gently take more control. It's so hard.

OMGosh! my son had a bunch of imaginary friends!! sometimes it was a real friend. His first one was Figgy--I have no idea where he came from but I just loved his friends. I always thought it was an only child thing......

Yeah, we did notice. Seems like in the past she just popped in once in awhile in a big rush. Now she's much more interactive. Hmmmm.

love the segway into dumbo!!! love that the smilies make me feel like a kid too!! we are going to Disney in two weeks, I should look over this site, huh??!!! Good luck tomorrow! back in my twenties I was a real estate agent--well, it didn't go anywhere because I desperately needed steady money and I had to keep my full time job and just couldn't do both, it was hard! have thought about it now that I'm married and have another income coming in ;)

You think so? You might be on to something there. Ok, I will make your hair stand on edge. When John-Paul was less than 2 he had an imaginary friend named Jock - I think from the name of the dog in Lady and the Tramp. Jock got to do things John-Paul couldn't do yet, like ride the school bus. Tom's Dad got really sick and passed away 3 days after John-Paul turned 2. Three weeks later, I said What's up with Jock, honey? You haven't mentioned him in a while. He looked at me like I should have known better and he said, "Mommy, Jock went to heaven to be with Papa." He never spoke of Jock again. :sad2:
