Geriatric MM Warriors!

You are right, but I'll do the full week! The detox is very intense. There is no "solid" food allowed. I juice for my lunch and puree for my dinner and in between I'm allowed tea, water, high-density berry drinks and high density vege drinks. I did it for 21 days my last time and felt really good until the last couple days where my body was craving protein I lost the most in my first week so I figure if I lose my ten that I gained, I can jump right back on my MM and "whip" my metabolism back into shape. We'll see. It seems like the only WOE that has really worked for me. I really love MM and know that this is the way for me, but for some reason I think if I do my detox, it will kick me up a notch. Does that make sense?pirate: I like the pirate dude!

Do you do your own juicing? We bought a juicer a couple years ago and love it. I have done a couple detoxes using the juicer. I have a book, but can't remember the name right off. I'll see if I can find it and post it for you.
She has all different kinds of detoxes and what you should juice. But even if you don't juice, you could maybe eat the veges.

Natalie, don't wait too long to have a good talk with your Mom. No, she won't like it but it becomes necessary. My Mom refused to move and we tried to keep an eye on her as best we could. We saw her mental capacity decline but didn't think it was too bad. She was finally forced to move when she started a fire because she forgot something on the stove. I'm not trying to scare you but at some point we have to gently take more control. It's so hard.

thanks Barb--I know exactly what you mean. I HATE seeing her like this. I think she may be ready though, she's talked about it already-about selling her house--I think the attachment is so great because all of us (5) kids were born and grew up there. :sad1:

You think so? You might be on to something there. Ok, I will make your hair stand on edge. When John-Paul was less than 2 he had an imaginary friend named Jock - I think from the name of the dog in Lady and the Tramp. Jock got to do things John-Paul couldn't do yet, like ride the school bus. Tom's Dad got really sick and passed away 3 days after John-Paul turned 2. Three weeks later, I said What's up with Jock, honey? You haven't mentioned him in a while. He looked at me like I should have known better and he said, "Mommy, Jock went to heaven to be with Papa." He never spoke of Jock again. :sad2:

got the goosepimples!! lets see...........:littleangel: I'll use this one!! ( I WILL get tired of the smilies some day!)

We had the same scenario. The fire dept. paramedics reported warning signs. We took my MIL to the doctor and had frank discussions then all 3 of her kids did an intervention. She curled up in a fetal position and cried. It was really hard on them. She has dementia and was out driving like that and could have killed herself or someone else. We moved her out and then sold the house once we had her settled. She's 2 miles from us in the best place in town. She's in better shape health-wise, but not very happy. It's been hard. I'm so sorry you are faced with this.
Lisa
P.S. I meant we had the same kind of scenario as Barb told you about.

Evening Y'all,

Kathy, the wedding pictures are wonderful. I love the barn. What a neat place and everyone looks so happy. I love looking at pictures ............almost seeing into their soul at times.

Gena

Thank you for the kind words. I have know her husband's family all my life. Her and Levi have never met. They have always known each other also. I remember when he was born! And his aunt is my best friend. I can remember when she was born too! They are my family. When my sister and her family came back from CO, it was like picking up where we all left off when we were kids. We are all extremely close. It's so nice to be with them as the only family I really have here is my mom and dad. I guess I should say blood. I do have aunts, uncles and cousins, but we were never that close :(

you should make the attic YOUR SPACE! You can let your husband 'visit' your space from time to time:lmao::lmao:

:rotfl::lmao:
Thankfully it's big enough that I'd be able to put a nice comfy chair up there by one of the widows and just watch the world go by. Mike and I actually get along great. I worked with him for about 5 years before we got together. He is my best friend (most of the time LOL). He does treat me like a queen, and I do gobble it up. A long cry from my ex-husband.

You are so cute! My husband is obsessed with laundry! When he was in 5th grade he didn't put his clothes to be washed in the proper spot so his Mom made him wait to get clean clothes and he had to wear his underwear twice. Ever since he does his own laundry - like constantly! The second John-Paul walks though the door with his suitcase his Dad is asking him if he has any laundry. It's a hoot!:laundy:

Brad is obsessed with doing his laundry too! At least one load per day!

Robin--I have noticed in the past that the weekend is a slower time. lets see what happens tomorrow and next week.

You know, I hate to say this, but Georgia seems to be posting more than she ever did--I mean, is it just me or did you guys notice she would only post once every few days before and now shes answering peoples questions and responding more.....things that make you go hhmmmmmm.............

Natalie - I noticed the same thing! Makes me go hmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Pony – I think Netrition carries the Da Vinci with a flat shipping charge. There is a huge number of flavors. Yes, it is Splenda, but the liquid kind does not have the carbs the pourable kind has. It doesn’t take a lot to flavor something. I am running out of the ones I have. The flat shipping does not apply to HI !!! I get things when we are in CA and then bring them back with me. That is getting harder though with the luggage restrictions, too.

Jocelyn - maybe I should make trip over and bring you some Da Vinci? I wouldn't mind traveling light and filling my luggage up with whatever you want!

You deserve a big comfy chair by a window! I am glad you are with your best friend? Isn't it nice? I am with mine too.

Sounds like a great idea!!

I post a short note and then see I have missed posts. You are all still having fun tonight with our new home:surfweb::surfweb:

I really do have to go and see about dinner. The UH girls volleyball game is on shortly and we don't want to miss it!!!:cheer2::cheer2: Go WAHINE!!

Jeez. I was just over at LCF. I answered a few questions, just couldn't let the newbies hanging, ya know? Hopefully it will be more active again when Diane's new forum starts.

Good Night Everyone

Natalie, saying some prayers for you and your family.

Jocelyn, the pumpkin roll is a jelly roll of sorts. You make a think cake batter, bake it in a jelly roll, then when cooled, put the filling in. I'll post the original recipe.

Well, off to bed. Long day tomorrow. Going to the rehab for our "meeting." Not sure what to expect. I do know they want him to go to a half way house. He hasn't been totally honest about his usage to the rehab, so not sure what to expect tomorrow.
Have a great night everyone, and sweet dreams, and God bless.
