General Public Package Code for October 1 through December 23

I'm on hold... DH finally said we could upgrade to AKL!!! How long has everyone been waiting on hold?

We haven't stayed onsite in a while but are considering it for an October trip.

Is there anyway to apply these codes for an online quote? I'm phone phobic.

Am I correct that the package must include at least one day of park tix for each guest in your party? We are 2 adults, 2 kids.

Much obliged.

Wife of Ted

I hate calling too, but the prices aren't online yet. They will probably eventually put them online, but it will take a day or two if I remember correctly from last time.

I already booked, but did not charge the full amount yet. Can the price of my package be discounted?

Yeah! I called back and was offered either a Waterview room at the Yacht club (which would have been $100 less for the package than what I was paying for a standard view room) or I could switched to a standard view room at the Beach Club with the discount.

I switched.

So:

October 21-28 Standard View at the Beach Club 3 Adults / 1 Junior (age 17)
1 day base tickets plus dining plan = $3651.97

Original price $4250

Savings $598

I meant Coronado Springs...I haven't had entirely enough coffee this morning, so sorry if I put in the wrong abbreviation!

I'm going to wait and see if it changes online, otherwise I'll be calling Disney to make sure the dining is still there. Sounds like other people have experienced the same thing too!

Ahh okay! I was going to say, that's a pretty good deal!!

Yep! As long as it is available for your dates at your resort for your room type. there are limitations, so you may need to be a little flexible.

Can anyone tell if the Public Code saves more than the Disney Visa code? or is the savings about the same? Thanx ... :)

The CM I spoke with told me it is exactly the same :)

Did you have any luck???

Yep :woohoo:!

My story is kinda complicated, I'll try to keep it short:

Phoned from England at approx 7.04am FL time. Got stuck on hold until approx 7.44am FL time (40mins wait).

Got a great CM but then the trouble started - she couldnt' seem to get us in ANYWHERE for our dates (11/16-11/28). Just nothing available at all. After about 15mins or so of that she figured she could get us room only with the discount - no good we wanted dining (and it turned out the room only thing wasn't working right either - I believe becuase this is a package discount rate).

About 8.20am FL time she came back after a period of me being on hold again with the answer - and I should have known it! We were trying to book 12 nights and, at present, the CRO system can only handle 10 night reservations! If you want longer you have to book two separate ones and request them to be linked (so hopefully you don't have to move rooms).

That being said she was now able to get the discount and another half hour later we finally got the following:

POP was unavailable for our dates so she looked at the Mods for us (my DFi wanted to upgrade if the discount meant we could afford it anyway).... so we are in for Port Orleans Riverside.

11/16 - 11/25 (9 nights) POR, 2A, Standard view, with 10day Park Hopper & Water Park ticket plus dining = $2289

11/25 - 11/28 (3 nights) POR, 2A, Standard view, with 1day Park hopper & water park ticket plus dining = $698

We had to book a 9 night and then 3 night because the discount code only works over 3night stays :)

Worked out to British Pounds Sterling this is basically what we would have paid to stay at Pop without discount so our upgrade to mod works out about free!

I did some working out on disney.com just now and I *believe* the discount code saved us somewhere in the region of $998! Sounds amazingly high tho' but I'll take it ;)

Cheers everyone!

Yea Gasposde!! 1st CP yesterday and now your room is set!! (Ouch on your phone bill though :guilty: )

Have a great time!!!!!!!! I'd say I'll see you there since our trip times overlapped and we were staying at POR but I am on hold now to upgrade to AKL! :Pinkbounc

That could be correct, but it sounds a little high. We did the exact same thing (upgrade from Pop to POR, but for 8 nights only, 11/3-11/11 and saved about $450 off of what it would have cost for us to upgrade normally, after the discount we paid $38 more to stay at a mod than the value.

Oh yeah, is anyone getting any availability at POFQ at all? That one seems to be the hot ticket and while we were told there was nothing available for our stay, I'd like to know if there is any available for ANY stay so I know if it's worth checking back or if it is just blacked out period. :goodvibes

Good luck Cinderumbrella to get that upgrade! Perhaps if you do we'll still see you there since we are eating at Boma one day and Jiko another :)

BT - Yeah, I thought it sounded high. Perhaps it is because that is over two bookings - on the 9night reservation I believe we saved $567 and on the 3night $380ish

Keep the great news coming everyone,
Gaspodé

dbmarie, I was wondering the same thing about the travel dates...we check in 12/19 and leave 12/28...I booked for the first time with a AAA travel agent because I thought some discount was better than no discount! I called to tell her this package was coming out today and to have my reservation pulled to call and have it applied to my package. She said if something came out, she will go through all her files it applies to. I called her this morning to confirm it was available and she should try and apply it to mine. Well, now she tells me she does not know if it will work for me because you have to have travel completed by 12/23. I tried to tell her that I believed you had to check in by 12/23, but she seems to think she's right. I told her I would call Disney myself to verify, but she said she was on hold with them anyway and would check. (how is she on hold with them, but taking calls from me??)

Sorry to vent, but I really hate not having control over this. How are the rest of you using travel agents doing with getting codes applied to your reservations?

Forgot to say no need to worry about my phone bill - I went earlier today and picked up an international phone card from the post office at a cost of £5 (approx $9) and used that - it didn't even use it all up I have approx $2 left :) Not bad for a two hour middle of the day call to the USA!

Got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

AKL standard room 7 nights, 2A1C, 8 day park hopper with dining $2666.36 only $236 more than POR and finally get back to a hotel with hotel rooms that open to the inside!!!!! :rotfl:

To everyone staying at POR- really it is lovely and we had a wonderful time there but I am so happy to be trying something new!!

Very happy for you, Gaspode! Happy honeymoon!!!

OOOOO-it's your honeymoon?!!!!! Make sure you request to be in the mansions- it's very Gone With the Wind on that side of the resort. And sign up for a carriage ride around the property- very romantic. And remember to check out Bob Jackson in the lounge at night- he's hilarious! I could go on and on! :rotfl:

I am frustrated too. I also used a TA and I am still waiting to hear back from her. Can't she just give me her little "code word for TA" and I'll do the work myself??? I love the AAA discount but I miss having control over my ressie!!! :furious:

Thanks akalittleeva I'm sure we'll have a great time and you will too!

Cinderumbrella - wow what a bargain for AKL! eep! don't tell my DFi that or he'll be wanting us to upgrade a second time to AKL ;) thats a really good saving! go you :woohoo:

We have only ever stayed at Pop (before that we always stayed offsite) so are excited to try out POR :)

And lol at your Dole Whip suggestion!

Cya,
Gaspodé
