Hey all,

I have family coming over for the holidays and I would like to take them to each of the Disney resorts. Are the resorts open to the general public?

Welcome to the DIS. Yes you can visit the resorts. If you aren't staying on site you may want to use Disney transportation to get around. Parking at some of the resorts is restricted around the holidays.

Awesome!!! I do notice that there are usually security at the gate. What do I tell them?

For the Boardwalk, I usually hand them my FL Driver License and tell them I'm visiting.

You will need to show ID at the guard shack if driving. Telll them you are there to visit the resort.

Here's an easy way to avoid the guard shacks for a lot of the resorts. Go over to Magic Kingdom. You do not have to enter the park. Take the monorail all around those resorts. You can take the boats to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. Then from Magic Kingdom, take the Swan/Dolphin bus over there and walk around all the Epcot resorts. I've done this with my relatives when they haven't had park passes. Makes for almost a full day. It's very easy to drive to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and see that one. The guards there expect people just visiting.
