I don't have Geico but the woman who hit us two years ago did and they were very good to work with. She hit us (well, actually she hit the van behind us going so fast - we were standing still - that she drove that van into our van and us into the car in front of us ) on a Sun and by Thurs I had a check for the fairly major repairs - my whole backend and DD's new carseat - van was fixed in a couple of weeks. So from the other side, they are a good company to deal with.
I've had GEICO for years, my parents have been insured by them since the days when you had to be a government employee to be insured. Never had a problem. We've only had a few claims but they were all settled promptly, and I really like knowing that I can can in touch with them 24-7.
I had GEICO for 14 years.
Last March (hmm, exactly a year ago) I was in a multi car wreck. As my girls say, I was the cheese in the car smash sandwich.
As it turns out the guy who started the wreck did not have enough coverage to handle 5 cars badly damaged/totaled. I was rather concerned until I remembered I had Uninsured/Underinsured insurance. Everything was covered.
I was very happy w/ the claim service and felt they were professional and courteous. That being said, when I bought my new car I went w/ USAA as they were cheaper and I had heard very good things about them.
If I had not had the wreck I would not have shopped around and I was happy w/ them (let's just say it this way - when I sent them a check they deposited it just fine).
I think it's just changing insurance companies. I've been happy with mine but Geico is so much cheaper. Plus...that darned lizard..I don't think he's playing with a full deck if you know what I mean.
Thank you all for your responses. I'm going to make the change to Geico.
I've had GEICO since the early 90's - they insure all three cars , my motorcycle and they also covered my boat when I had it. Very good and easy company to deal with.
I have been shopping car insurance and we are paying $925/6 mos for 3 cars. 2 of them have loans, and one the ones with the loan is a "high performance" truck. This includes a discount for having our house insurance with the same company.
I shopped Esurance.com and found a $400 savings on our 6 month policy. I was like WOW!!
After reading this thread, I went on Geico and found they were going to charge us $30 more on our 6 month policy.
DH and I each had our own Geico policies before we got married.
When we got married...I couldn't believe how easy it was to merge our 2 policies to one. The people are VERY friendly and the few times I've had to call them...they have been more then helpful/curteous.
We've had Geico for years...maybe about 8 now. No problems at all. I might add that my family owns an Auto Body repair shop ..going on 30 years. We are a designated repair shop for some major Insurance Companies..including Geico, Allstate and Nationwide, and Hartford. You will have no trouble with Geico.
We've had Geico for a few years now and have had no problems. When my car got caught in a 12 ft. Ivan storm surge, they promptly came out to check it out, took it away and gave me a check. . all in efficient time.
