I love Animal Kingdom!!!!! Can't wait to see the rest of the safari pics!!!!
Love how involved kids get to be at Disney!!
Brooklynn looks so engrossed in what the CMs are showing her!!
I totally agree. I love the looks on Brooklynn's face as she is absorbing everything. I wish my students could have that look more often. I try to make it exciting and interesting, but they need all that good hands-on stugg going on.
I wonder if that gorilla's head feels as soft as it looks?
Are you going to get close enough to find out?
I love those 'rillas. The expressions on their faces are just priceless. I am afraid I'm one of those who perhaps haven't given AK it's due and will try to rectify that... but cannot stomach birds... or snakes... or bats... or other things I have forgotten but reserve the right to mention.
I think all of those are so cool! I never have understood the fear of birds, but it seems like many people have it.
I always do wonder what the gorillas are saying in their minds as they watch us watching them.
I love this picture! Very pretty. I don't recall the hippos being in the same pool with the cichlids, but it sure looks like one in the background. Or is it a rock? Either way it's a great picture. They are beautiful fish. And the baby gorilla is the cutest thing ever!
I totally agree with you... for us AK is in no way a 1/2 day park. There are too many little treasures and jewels tucked away to rush through that fast.
Not a rock - definitely a hippo.
There is so much detail at Animal Kingdom. If you are an AK fan, run over to Pat's report and look at the Jammin' Jungle Parade pictures.
I found them and bookmarked them so I can show her. I'm going to write it down, too, and put it in the same envelope as our friend's money and one remaining earring. I am so excited to get pictures from her!
So cool that you guys got to see the baby gorilla!
We have gotten to see her twice now. She is a cutie.
We need a baby gorilla smiley.
I think your sis is already there now.
It looks like she is doing well and progressing along.
It also looks like Momma is letting her wander further away too unless she is hiding behind that rock.
We only saw her for a minute or two as she peeked over the rock. I'm thinking she's probably the luckiest little gorilla in America being born where she was. If you see any future article on her progress, be sure to let me know.
I thought the kids' drawings were really very good!!
I remember seeing that baby gorilla too - so cute! We spent a good 15 minutes staring at her and the momma and talking to the CM there. Very interesting!
Yep. The CM's there are usually good at engaging interested onlookers in conversation.
The kids' drawings were amazing!
And the territory/feeding grounds sketch was fascinating, & so detailed. Just glad it's not super-detailed on some of the stinkier parts.
Love the photos of the baby gorilla and the hippo, both peeking out at us.
I bet I can draw a hippo, too. A stick hippo.
I thought the drawing was interesting as it showed the males on the outsides of the line protecting the females.
I will have to remember that tidbit about the hippos at night the next time I am on the Jungle Cruise.
Okay, I love the mental image of the animals all arriving at AK and clocking in.
Darling little Lily!
Chelsea was entertaining us with little-known facts she had read last night when we took a walk around the neighborhood. Here are a couple for you that seem appropriate with the AK pictures: giraffes can clean their own ears because their tongues are 21 inches long, and they have no vocal cords.
There is some kind of vocal box, though, as they can make bleating noises, I have read. Good for Chelsea and her giraffe knowledge. Does she know thye have the same number of neckbones as humans -7- and that they have one of the shortest sleeping habits of any animal - less than five hours a day?
I think I may be part giraffe.
Love the gorilla pics. I love watching them (watching us) On our last trip one of them was so funny. He/she kept moving spots & then looking at us to see if we were watching. Then they went behind a bush & peeked out.
Baby Lilly is so cute.
Peek-a-boo with a Disney gorilla would be awesome! I wanna play!
Can't wait to see that baby gorilla again!! Last May she was still hanging on to mama and I only caught a glimpse of her, so excited at the chance to see her more clearly
She was foraging around on her own the first time, but still close to Momma. It will be so fun to watch her grow.
I know the update was from yesterday but I didn't see it then...so thank you for starting my day off today with some AK fun!
Happy to oblige. A dose of Disney starts every day off on a nice note.
