Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Noooo...you can't take Naveen to TN! We still havn't met him and Tiana yet. :rotfl:

I am a huge fan of BrooklynnsMommy's fancy phone.
I really enjoy looking at the pics she posts! :thumbsup2

Next year you can join us and see for yourself how fun it is. ;)

I want one of those smart phones just to have the Disney apps...only a crazy person would do that, right? :rotfl2:

YES! Get a new camera!

I read the same thing about the Animation resort being ready in May 2012....makes me excitted at the posibility that I may be able to see it on our trip.

sunny stace I think I still have Aaron's plastic axe from his childhood fireman's Halloween costume. LOL
Tell your DMom we will meet in a public place...she has nothing to worry about. :)

I love the family picture Memom! I am glad you didn't do a "hidden" Memom for it! :)

Jill, I Know we have had the conversation before about MIL's!! lol I feel ya!!!! Bless your heart on the Disney trip!!! :rotfl: I will pray for you like I pray for myself when I go!! ha ha

Just stopping in for a second to let you know I haven't forgotten you and I'll be back to catch up real soon. We took a quick trip down last week to pick up our oldest from college and got to spend a couple hours in Downtown Disney. Had dinner at Earl of Sandwich and shopped for a bit. I didn't buy anything, but I loved the Disney fix. Talk to you again real soon, I promise.:)

All caught up. Loved the early am rain pics on main Street. Seemed so homey to me for some reason. I am sorry we wont meet in Oct :sad2: You and Brooky will have an amazing trip though.

Now I am off to catch up on the rest of the thread.

All caught up. I am so happy for you that you got to see all your children on Mother's Day.

Good to have you back.
I'm anxious to hear all about your trip!

I can't wait to stay at the new Animation studios!! I'm wanting to take Caroline so maybe we could stay there.....hmmmmm.....

Speaking of Caroline, here's some new pictures. She loves her Mickey & Minnie dolls.... Aunt Katie's doing a good job teaching her.

Isn't she the best?

My sister in law's pregnancy is going well, so thanks for the prayers.

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

Caroline is awesome, of course! It will be so much fun when you take her to Disney World. Art of Animation will have one section of single rooms, so that would be perfect for you to share with her. We're trying out the suites for our first visit, but we may decide we like two separate rooms better after that. We may fall in love with that place, or we may decide we like Pop better. Who knows? We'll find out next summer. :goodvibes

I'm paying the ultimate sacrifice and leaving Naveen there for the rest of you to share, as long as you keep in mind who he really belongs to. ;)

Somebody has got to have a video camera on the mom when she sees the plastic axe. :)

I think we got some hearty laughs out of the MIL stories when we got together in Atlanta that day. :rotfl: I'm going to check with Anita to see when they plan to go through Atlanta. She said something about meeting up with Jackie. If they are looking for company, maybe we could all hook up. If they're just wanting a quiet no mother-in-law stories dinner, maybe we can hook up with them after they have that. :goodvibes

MAYYYYYYBEEEEEEE? It is onthe list - When I do not know, but I am sure I will stay there at least once to try it out.

I would LOVE to be there on opening day. That would be so cool to open a Disney resort!

I saw your Earl picture on Facebook. I am glad you got to go over there and get a little dose of Disney. Did your daughter go over there very much over the past year? Is she going back to the same school next year?

We really wanted to be there for the 40th anniversary, but it just didn't play out right for us. Jill says we'll go for the 50th, and I am holding her to that.

We will have a lot of fun in October. I was going to only do two parks and have some free days for other things because of the cost, but since Kay and Brianna are going, we'll just go ahead and do all the parks, since Brianna has never been. We'll get five day tickets and probably do it something like this - Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom. I am so hoping for free dining.

I laughed when I saw your comment about 'Nokey-Nose' because around here he's affectionately known as 'Okey-Cokey-O' :rotfl:

She went to Downtown Disney a couple of times but not as much as I thought she would. Plans right now are that she will go back.

:lmao: Actually she has gotten a lot better with the whole "internet strangers" thing since she retired and got addicted to the games on facebook. :rotfl: I told her all of the people she's playing with are probably axe-murderers too!:rotfl2: She didn't think it was funny. I did! She doesn't honestly think anyone on the Dis would be an axe-murderer...she thinks we're all a bit weird! She doesn't "get it"....

LOL love the souvenir list too cute!

I too am very excited about trying the Animations Studios, they should be a lot of fun and I can't wait to explore the new resort!!

What a cute DIS meet!! All those DISkids are just precious!!! Glad you guys had a great ride!!!!

Yay!! I've been waiting for this update!!

We were probably on Peter Pan at the same time as you... it was a good place to hide from the rain! :umbrella:

We were definitely at It's a Small World with you! My boys were so excited to hand out those stickers! They were kind of mad that there were so many princess stickers though.

And Kay wasn't alone in thinking we were all crazy... My DH was thinking the same thing. Luckily he was a good sport and came along for the ride.

Add, my husband to that list:thumbsup2, but he is a good sport, too. And, I was so happy at the end when he said it was neat. I can't remember our order at opening - I know we started on Dumbo (and Jill rode our Dumbo when we got off), but I think we may have done Winnie the Pooh, but who knows, we could have been on Peter Pan with all you all.

This morning was one of the highlights of our trip!
Memom - I will try to post some of my pictures this weekend.

This guy has worked here for about a hundred and one years. He's at Small World a lot, too.

IMG_1355.jpg

Do you think he knows he's been in many DIS reports? I thought about telling him he was a DIS star, but he was very busy walking in place on the platform. :)

I bet he's an expert at walking on that platform.

It's my dream to get old and retire in Orlando and work at Disney World. I know 2 men who have done that (my stepmom's uncle and a friend's dad) and I can't wait to see them in October (hopefully). One works at AK selling Mickey bars and I need to find out where the other one is - I think at MK somewhere. When I retire I want to play Maleficent, but I don't think that will happen. I'm not tall (or green) enough. I'm thinking, if I follow in my mother's footsteps body-type wise, I will be better suited to play the Fairy Godmother when I get older. But that would still be fun. I wonder if I'll ever get to light the castle up at Christmas time???

Too bad Ray has told me on numerous occasions that he will never, ever live south of where we are right now due to heat. He shatters my Disney dreams. :sad2:

Great dismeet! Aren't those so much fun? :grouphug:

Chris and I have already decided (at the ripe old ages of 23 and 26 lol) that this is what we'll be doing. I would love to be the person who stands on Main St. when the park opens with the big Mickey hands and just waves to kids. Or, selling ice cream works too. Really anything. Maybe when Ray gets older the heat will bother him less and you can live out your dream :thumbsup2

Or maybe we'll strike it rich between now and then and we can just stay in Florida part of the year in our "winter home" and I can work at Disney November through March. They wouldn't even have to pay me - I'd do it voluntarily. :rotfl:

I was talking to my dad telling him it would be cool to work at the new resort. He then said he would want to switch but would miss TSM and his seniority.

In "my" slightly perfect world, I would be able to move back to Florida just in time of opening and get hired to work at the Suites checking MeMom and crew in. :thumbsup2(I say slightly perfect because in a completely perfect world - we wouldnt have to work and could instantly appear at Disney with a blink of an eye.;))

CanadianWDWfan
, I'm a huge fan of BrooklynnsMommy's phone too - all fancy phones to be exact. My iPod touch is just a teaser.:rotfl:

Punkin413
- I wouldn't mind retiring there either (or working my summers there)

Someway, somehow I plan to work for Disney again
.

Sweet little baby talk.

She went to Downtown Disney a couple of times but not as much as I thought she would. Plans right now are that she will go back.

Trent didn't go that much, either. He went a couple of times with friends just for fun, and then he met Marc and Anita different places when they were there.

Some get it. Some don't.
I guess I'm kind of glad that some don't, or else WDW would be far too crowded for us to even get in. :upsidedow

What a cute DIS meet!! All those DISkids are just precious!!! Glad you guys had a great ride!!!!

In just seven weeks, we'll be able to check in on the progress at Art of Animation for ourselves. :cool1:

Aren't those kids so sweet?
We are all so very blessed to have those smiling faces in our lives. :goodvibes

Memom - I will try to post some of my pictures this weekend.

I think it is funny to see the husbands' reactions when a bunch of silly Disney girls get together. Secretly, though, they enjoy the Disney trips, and I bet they get a kick out of seeing the giddy girls, too. If nothing else, it gives them something to poke fun at.

We will enjoy seeing the meet from different points of view.

I need that walking job to walk off about fifty pounds!

What is your May 28th looking like? We may be coming to ATL. Anita is meeting up wiith Jackie for lunch. If Jackie and Anita don't mind crashers, all the GA people could hook up.

Retiring in WDW would be fun. I'll work in Animal Kingdom.

You would be a good waver girl, Kristen!

We sure did!!! Oh yes, please let me know what she says! I would love to see you all again!

What are you doing May 28th? We might be coming that day.

Or maybe we'll strike it rich between now and then and we can just stay in Florida part of the year in our "winter home" and I can work at Disney November through March. They wouldn't even have to pay me - I'd do it voluntarily.

That could be a good mix. As for me, however, I would want to get paid. ;)

I wish you could be there to christen AoA, too!

I know your dad wouldn't want to lose his seniority at TSMM. Plus, we need him there for Fastpasses.....when we ca find him!!!

We had our ride on Small World. I either did video or took almost no pictures. I'll let Jill check about the videos, since they would be on her laptop.

We realized that Julie, her mom, and Claire had not made it in time for the first ride, so we went around again with them. Brook was going to come, too, but Henry was all about going on Peter Pan at the moment, so they headed on out. Dis Mom Amy's boys were dreaming of some Big Thunder Mountain time, if I recall correctly, and I am not sure about where everyone else was off to.

Here is a blurry picture of Claire enjoying Small World.

After we said goodbye to sweet little Claire, we saw our friend, Mary Poppas.

Next, I believe Jill and Brooklynn went over to Big Thunder Mountain, and I hung out with Bella. I think Kay stayed with us.

I think Walt would be happy with this.

I have no idea who they are, but I thought it was precious. It actually brings a little mist to my eyes right now as I see it. Seeing the young and the old enjoying this place together absolutely thrills me.

Bella loves the Carrousel.

And when it stops, and she says, "Geyun?"...we go again. :lovestruc

Calling all Georgia DIS friends, or anyone who is near enough to Atlanta to want to travel. Mark your calendar for May 28th. Marc and Anita are having lunch with Jackie and her family, and we're all crashing their quiet (no longer ;)) little meal. Anita approved Jill and I and the girls crashing yesterday, but then I asked Jackie this morning about a bigger crash by all the GA DIS folks, and she approved. :jumping1: So, anyone who is in, plan on lunch. I guess we'll have to let Marc and Anita dictate the time, since they are the ones who will be traveling through and will have to get back on the road. Stay tuned for further developments, if you are interested.

Ah, I love the picture of the grandfather and his little granddaughter holding hands!!! :goodvibes

Hurray for a Georgia DIS meet! That will be so much fun! I will get out my Mickey necklace and earrings for the occasion!

I would love to meet up with everyone. My mom is having knee replacement surgery Monday at 7:30. Please keep her in your prayers, that all goes well with surgery and rehab.
