Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

We said goodbye to our Hundred Acre Wood buddies,

IMG_1347.jpg

and headed toward Fantasyland.

Jill and the girls (or maybe just Brooklynn) rode on Dumbo,

IMG_1349.jpg

but as they got on, it started raining, so Kay and I headed for shelter near a kiosk.

We saw Nokey-nose skip by.

IMG_1350.jpg

Brooklynn used to call Pinocchio Nokey-nose. She says it better now, but it has stuck with the grown-ups.

The kiosk guy said the rain was just getting there and was going to stay all day. That is not what I had seen on the morning news, but I didn't say anything. I was really hoping the news was right and Kiosk Man was wrong.

We took a ride to Neverland. The girls rode with me and Kay rode with Jill.

IMG_1353.jpg

I probably flash-bulbed Bella in the face, huh? :rotfl:

This guy has worked here for about a hundred and one years. He's at Small World a lot, too.

IMG_1355.jpg

Do you think he knows he's been in many DIS reports? I thought about telling him he was a DIS star, but he was very busy walking in place on the platform. :)

When we can get off and right back on on Peter Pan, we do.

Ride #2. This time the girls went with Jill.

IMG_1356.jpg

After that, it was time for the big Small World meet we had been planning for months.

First, we saw Princess Abby.

IMG_1357.jpg

Then Prince Henry.

IMG_1359.jpg

There was a whole crew of wet DIS people.

IMG_1360.jpg

These boys are fun!

IMG_1361.jpg

DisMomAmy had stickers for all the kids. They loved that, of course!

IMG_1362.jpg

Elaine and her nice husband were there, too. (I bet Kay talked to you, didn't she?)

IMG_1363.jpg

DIS kids.

IMG_1364.jpg

Kay probably thought we were a bit crazy meeting 'strangers from the internet'! ;)

Time to fill a boat!

IMG_1365.jpg

We did fill the boat, but we didn't really proportion things out evenly as we got on, and the boat was way heavier on the right side (yes, my side) than the left. We could have been close to taking on water until a couple of people shifted left. :rotfl:

You guys who were there, feel free to add your pictures, which I am sure are much clearer than mine. Plus, they are from different angles, so people might enjoy seeing a few more.

Next time, Small World pictures,

and who

had we

forgotten???

I cannot wait to read about your stay at the new resort next summer! Just think, saving money will mean more fun the next trip!

I think staying at a brand new resort will go a long way in making the wait more tolerable. I really think Brooklynn is going to love it, and just think of the hundreds of brand new pictures waiting to be taken!

Yay!! I've been waiting for this update!!

We were probably on Peter Pan at the same time as you... it was a good place to hide from the rain! :umbrella:

We were definitely at It's a Small World with you! My boys were so excited to hand out those stickers! They were kind of mad that there were so many princess stickers though.

And Kay wasn't alone in thinking we were all crazy... My DH was thinking the same thing. Luckily he was a good sport and came along for the ride.

I also can't wait to hear about your AoA stay next summer! I'm really excited to see how far it's come when we go in January (still no dates but my mom has sworn we ARE going...I'm SO anxious to have dates!)

The big Small World meet looks like a ton of fun! What an awesome idea. :)

I'm smiling and humming....it's a small world...hmmmm....after all...:goodvibes

What a great turn out at your DISmeet!

Children love stickers! Good idea! :thumbsup2

I will be here too anxiously awaiting your Animation resort pics next summer!!!

I saw some pics of new princess rooms at Port Orleans tonight.
They look very, very cool! I have to look into those for a future trip. :cloud9:

You had me laughing so much when I was reading your wish list from Disney.
Poor little Zebra Domes...don't travel well.

I'll let him know.

Sorry to hear that your spring trip might not work out but that leaves more anticipation for a summer trip.

I look forward to seeing those Animation Suites pictures for sure.

Look at me! Look at me! I'm up at MeMom time again!
I had some dental surgery yesterday and slept all day (from about 10:30am to 8pm), took a pain pill (around 10:30pm) and slept until about 4:50am! Now I am wiiiiiiiiide awake! And I'm staying with my mum so there isn't much to do but Dis right now! Her house is also torn up for much needed renos and at the moment the fridge is pulled out blocking me from the TV in the living room...

You met strangers from the internet?! Now you're gonna get my mum started on the axe-murderer thing again!:rotfl: You know how Walt Disney World brings out the psychos! ;) I have yet to tell her that I will likely meet a whole crew of Dis-friends on this next trip! CanadianWDWFan, bring a pretend axe for photos in October ok?:rotfl: It looks like you guys had lots of fun, even with the rain. That was a nice, big group you got!:grouphug:

I'm sorry to hear the spring trip may not work out, but a lot can happen between now and then! And Dollywood is fun, I remember being there as a kid on a road trip with my mum and daddy at about 8 or 9. And I'm sure you and Kay and your grandkids will have a great time together!:yay:

Having Kay and her granddaughter along on the October trip will be a lot of fun!

Did I miss that Jill was going with her in-laws to Disney??? Where have I been?

Hurray for a Small World meet -- it's so fun to see so many people who I "know" meeting up!

I am giggling away at your "souvenir" request list to get you through the trip hiatus... including Naveen and a Soarin' ride vehicle. :rotfl: Jill's going to have to bring a pretty big suitcase!

I agree that Animation Suites sound cool and it will be very fun to explore a brand new resort!

Looks like a fun morning at the Magic Kingdom. Hurrah for DIS meets!

Well, Kay's grandfather might be a little too old to go.
Possibly dead even.
But...
I know her granddaughter will have a ball! :yay:
The girls will have fun together, and I plan to spoil Brooklynn plenty on that trip. :goodvibes I hope it will be a trip to remember for her.

:confused3Geez, MeMom, can you tell what a crazy day I was having yesterday!!!!

However, that was a good laugh to start this day. :lmao:

Hey MeMom, when does AoA open up? Sounds like a neat place to stay! :)

Loved the update. It's neat to see CMs that have been there for a long time, making cameo appearances in different TRs. I wonder if they know about the Dis and come to look for photos of themselves? Ha!! It looks like a fun Small World meet. :thumbsup2

They weren't into the princess stickers, heh?

I was glad to see a short time later that the rain did go away. :)

How could anyone think we're crazy?!?!? We're all very normal. Slightly obsessed, but normal. :upsidedow

I also can't wait to hear about your AoA stay next summer! I'm really excited to see how far it's come when we go in January (still no dates but my mom has sworn we ARE going...I'm SO anxious to have dates!)

The big Small World meet looks like a ton of fun! What an awesome idea.

From the pictures I have seen, they are moving right along on AoA! :dance3: I think when we see the first big icons going up, it will get really exciting!

Poor little Zebra Domes...don't travel well.

I saw the new themed room pictures, too. It looks like this is the new trend, so they must be doing well booking the ones at Caribbean Beach that were sort of the test models.

I might need to get a brand new camera for next summer. ;)

I'll let him know.

Sorry to hear that your spring trip might not work out but that leaves more anticipation for a summer trip.

I look forward to seeing those Animation Suites pictures for sure.

As much as I do look forward to the spring trips, knowing that no one else can go then makes me okay with it. I don't want to go by myself, so that makes it a lot easier to deal with.

Look at me! Look at me! I'm up at MeMom time again!

Those nice DIS friends should be able to convince your mom that all is well in hanging out here. She'll probably even want to live in DIStown before too long. :goodvibes

We're anxious to check out Dollywood. It will be something different for us, and I am sure we will enjoy it a lot.

Take care of yourself. Hope you are feeling better today.

Hurray for a Small World meet -- it's so fun to see so many people who I "know" meeting up!

They've been putting off the in-law trip for a while, but it looks like it is going to happen. Jill is dreading a Disney trip. Can you imagine that???

Kay is super excited about taking Brianna. (I finally learned how she spelled it when I got the flight information from her this morning.)

I am giggling away at your "souvenir" request list to get you through the trip hiatus... including Naveen and a Soarin' ride vehicle. Jill's going to have to bring a pretty big suitcase!

My list will probably grow, too. I'm thinking I'll need some folks jumping off a trolley car singing and dancing, and maybe add a funnel cake to the eats list. She can borrow a bag from Mary Poppins. :goodvibes

Looks like you guys were having tons of fun even with it raining!!

Yep, we were soaked, but having a good time. :cool1:

Geez, MeMom, can you tell what a crazy day I was having yesterday!!!!

However, that was a good laugh to start this day.

After the person before you said Kay's daughter and then you said grandfather, you guys had me second guessing myself, so I went back to check what I had written.

I thought I read somewhere that it would be May 2012, but that could be wrong. I bet Brook and Dawn and some of the travel agent girls will get the heads-up in the next few months.
Wouldn't it be fun to be there on opening day? :cheer2:
Hmmmm.....

I will have to speak to that CM someday and tell him he's sort of famous.

Love the update. I remember going to work that day & thinking about all of you meeting at IASW. I was very jealous!!:) Then I went on FB & saw the updates as well.

You & Kay & your girls will have a ball!!

Also, in future trip news, things are changing just a little. Kay texted me yesterday and said that Breanna's mom had approved the October dates, if Kay wanted to take her to Disney World. So, it looks like they will be accompanying us in October, and then the family will hopefully all go in December. Since Kay won't be able to make two trips and Brooklynn won't be able to miss school for a third time during my spring break, I will have no one to travel with in the spring. I told Jill we should move our Dollywood trip to spring, so we'd have something to do, or we can go for a day in October and a day or two in the spring - that's fine with me. No spring Disney trip will be easier to swallow if we have the Dollywood trip to look forward to, and it will allow for saving extra money to pay for staying at the suites at the new AoA next summer. Between those two things, that should be enough excitement to get me through the spring. ;)

HMMMMM- Maybe I know someone for you to travel with ??? :scratchin

IIf Jill would bring me back some things - maybe a flamingo, a steak from Kona, some Poly beach sand, a Soarin' ride vehicle, Naveen, a snack from Main Street Bakery.....I feel sure I could make it. :)
I would ask for a zebra dome, but I've seen the fatal outcome of transporting those for very long. :upsidedow

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Do you think she can convince him to get in the suitcase???!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I was great seeing the Small World picture. That was a fun morning meeting everyone.

It was nice meeting Kay. Now when you mention her in your report I know who you are talking about.

I love that Jill's phone can send the pictures right to Facebook for everyone to enjoy as things happen. It does bring the magic a little closer to home. :wizard:

I think we will have fun with the little girls, and there will probably be a lot of laughter. Brooklynn will enjoy showing Brianna around her Disney World.

HMMMMM- Maybe I know someone for you to travel with ??? :scratchin

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Do you think she can convince him to get in the suitcase???!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Poor Naveen. Wouldn't he be so upset to be whisked away from living in WDW and having all of his adoring fans just to come to Tennessee and make me happy? I guess I'll make the sacrifice for the masses and leave him there.

I will visit him on a regular basis, however. :)

If circumstances were different, I might be tempted to travel without the girls, but I'm standing strong on this one. If Jill can do it in October, I can do it in the spring. The money will need to go to the suites, we'll take a smaller side trip, and the six months from January 2nd when we leave Disney World until July whatever will make me appreciate things even more. Plus, with no wedding to interrupt next summer's trip, it can go back to the nine days. Nine days at a suite will cost a bundle.

Do you have plans to open the new resort?

It was nice meeting Kay. Now when you mention her in your report I know who you are talking about.

I'm surprised she didn't talk your ear off. She's a wonderful person and friend, but she is a talk talk talker!

I'm so glad you guys got to come. :goodvibes We'll do that again sometime.

Pooh's Mate, could you please post a pic of the contents page for the milkshake section? Or just list which milkshakes are included. Or just send me samples of the ones you like best. Thanks!

Sorry it has taken so long to reply. I am catching up so I just saw this. I will be glad to take a picture for you but that is the only milkshake. The others are for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Do you still want the picture?

Now I am off to catch up on the rest of the thread. :surfweb:

All caught up. I am so happy for you that you got to see all your children on Mother's Day. I think you look beautiful in the picture with them.

I can't wait to stay at the new Animation studios!! I'm wanting to take Caroline so maybe we could stay there.....hmmmmm.....:thumbsup2

Speaking of Caroline, here's some new pictures. She loves her Mickey & Minnie dolls.... Aunt Katie's doing a good job teaching her. :rotfl:
