Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

 We're so happy you're ok! Again, please reach out & let us know if you need anything or if you have friends in need.

It's instances like this that make me love our Dis friends. :lovestruc. We've made real friendships here, even though many of us have never met. When one of us is hurting, we hurt too. I thank God for all of you!

Take care!

That area is about a half mile from my house.

I lost communication about 4:30 yesterday afternoon and had no idea the devastation around me. As I have read all of the concern on here and fb from you all as well as the many texts I got when I had cell service I am just completely overcome with gratitude and humbled that you all were worried about me and my girls (whom most of you have never even met except through these reports.) I am grateful to you all for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. There is no gas, power, or water in our county. As we came up the interstate there were giant lines out into the streets waiting for gas as far as 30 miles from Huntsville. We were going to stop to get McDonald's at an exit about 30 miles up the interstate and there was a state trooper directing traffic into the parking lot and drive through. We have been told school will not resume until at least Tuesday. Once again thank you all!

Jill, it was such a relief when I received word from your mom that you all were ok. Last night we saw coverage of the storms on Nightline, then this morning on Good Morning America. What devistation....
So thankful that you all made it without harm.
Thoughts and prayers for those that weren't so lucky.

Jill--so glad you and your family are all ok. I heard about the big storms last night and was relieved when I heard you were all okay. I just looked at the pictures and the devastation is horrible. Your girls are so brave! The news this morning was covering it all and you are all so lucky! Good luck in getting everything restored back to your community and rebuilding!!

Thank you MeMom for all the updates on Facebook last night!

Oh my goodness I am so glad to hear you are all okay! How scary that must have been for everyone...I can't even imagine. Hope things return to normal soon!

So happy everyone is safe and okay:hug: That was one scary line of storms. Watching the tv today was just heart wrenching...such devastation. Big hugs to the brave little girls :hug::hug:

Tracy

So glad you and the girls are okay! I cannot believe some of the pictures I've seen and I can't imagine having to deal with that.

What a relief to hear that you are all okay. I didn't know exactly where Jill lived, so I was hoping for good news. But that was awfully close! So happy that you are safe.
Oh my gosh, those pictures are amazing. Such devastation. It's just terrible.
I agree - thank God for the DIS and our friends here! We are here for you!

Just wanted to check in to see that all of you were safe and sound! Very relieved for you! Jill how awful that it was so close, but so fortunate that it was far enough! :grouphug:

I will echo Jill's sentiments and our appreciation for your thoughts and prayers all through last night. It was a night we will all remember, for sure. I am glad to have the whole crew at my house now. Jill and John were appreciative of a good hot shower, and Brooklynn was appreciative of having a TV on which to watch her Disney movies. Bella is just glad she's not trapped in the hallway any more. ;)

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who lost family members/friends or who had damage to their homes and property. The fears of yesterday are behind, and now these people need strength and encouragement to face the rebuilding ahead.

I am so glad to hear that all of our DIS friends all over the south are safe and sound. Thank you for keeping us posted on all of your families, too.

We will return to trip report news tomorrow night. :)

I'm glad everyone's okay :grouphug:

We've gotten some of the bad weather today. Nothing too bad. It's been pouring on and off all day and we've had some thunder and high winds. I heard it was gonna hail too but I don't think it did. Unless it happened while I was taking my two hour nap :rolleyes1 "I'm just gonna lie down. Not sleep, just rest my eyes." Yeah, okay. :rotfl:

I'm glad we're getting this weather out of the way before my birthday! Saturday's forecast says 65 and sunny  It's supposed to be nice tomorrow for my mom's birthday too :)

Good morning MeMom, Jill and family.
I am still following your trip reports on an almost daily basis.
I have come on here this morning, to check that you are all safe and well.
As you might imagine the royal wedding is HUGE news over here at the moment (I am very excited about it and have the TV on in the background following the build up, as I type this) but the tornados that have hit in your area, made it onto our national news last night, after the royal wedding updates! The images they showed were awful, as were the ones that Jill posted the link to.
I am glad to hear that you are all safe and together :grouphug:

When's the last time you saw me on the Dis at 5am?! There is royal wedding fever in this house too! They're saying aproximately 2 BILLION people will watch the wedding live! That is insane!

I'm sooooo glad to hear that everyone is safe and sound and at least you guys get a visit out of everything. To look at those photos was absolutely terrifying and heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers will be with those affected.

Yesterday, it was pretty again, and it is supposed to be that way today and tomorrow, as well. Sunny days are a welcomed thing here these days after a crazy winter and a crazy beginning to spring. I hope the summer will just be dull and boring. :thumbsup2

Hope you have a very nice birthday weekend! I know you will have an awesome time on Saturday. :goodvibes

Those pictures are really devastating. Enjoy each other's company, once again glad you all are safe.

One of the news reports said that a stack of newspapers from somewhere in AL was found three counties away in TN.

If I don't PM or FB you tonight about your teacher questions, send me a reminder.

I am watching right now. We've all watched this little boy grow up, so we feel like we know him, in a way. He and Jill are the same age, and Harry and Trent are the same age.

It feels weird to be on national news. When Nashville flooded and I was looking at familiar sights on national news, it was strange.

It's usually just me and Jackie hanging out here in the morning. I'm watching the festivities, too. I hope this will truly be a happy marriage and a fun, enjoyable life for William and Kate. Reading the sad details of what went on behind the scenes in the other royal marriage is just kind of sad. Too bad they couldn't have been genuinely happy, and I hope these two are. :)

Morning, all!

Been up since 5 am watching the wedding. Loved it!! I'm such a sucker for a good love story - I wish them lots of happiness!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Just seen an update on our UK national news showing pictures of the devastation left by the tornado. Hope all our Disfriends and their families are safe and sound today.
Memom, Jill - hope you enjoy some family time together now. Have you all been watching the royal wedding? We've had coverage since we woke up this morning and it's still continuing now (about 2.20pm here at the moment)! My 3 year old DD is a bit of a wedding expert now having been a bridesmaid herself just recently ;)

I always take for granted the time difference. I got to work at 7:30 this morning (it's 9:30 now), opened up the internet, first page showed pictures of the happy couple riding in a carriage after their wedding. I guess I didn't realize it would be happening while I was asleep :confused3 It has been neat to look at all the pictures this morning....LOVE the hats :bride: I'll have to show my DD a video of it tonight, I remember seeing his mom & dads wedding when I was about 5 or 6....it was really neat....and my DD loves to dress up and walk around saying "I'm the Queen of England" :rotfl:

Well, it wasn't a chore for me to get up early, of course. It was a treat to see the royal festivities this morning. I hope they have a wonderful life together.

WOW. So glad you all are safe

Pretty crazy stuff, huh?

I surely was watching. I saw the wedding itself, stopped to get donuts for our school secretaries, and got here in time to run some copies and get back to the room to see William and Kate come out on the balcony to meet the crowd and have their kiss. Or kisses, as the case was. :lovestruc It started my day on a fun note.

********************************

Off to David Lipscomb University to see Aesop's Fables. When we get back, we'll eat lunch, and a local magician is coming for an assembly at 1:30. Ought to be an easy day. :) More trip coming tonight. Have a good Friday, DIS friends!

I saw the wedding of Charles and Diana, too, but I was grown and married with kids. Could be that I am a little bit older than you. :rolleyes1 I like that I saw William smiling a lot this morning. I hope this is the real thing for them. :) I thought it was kind of funny that he was about to fall asleep at one point. His eyes were sort of rollling in his head. I guess he stayed up a bit too late during his last guys' night out.
