Geeks on a budget - 12/22, complete! Read reflections within....

Erica,

Did I see somewhere that you purchased a Passporter?
If so.... Did you feel like it was worth the investment?
I ask because $22 towards a bottle can make a lot of mixed drinks and I have my priorities!:rotfl2:

I'd like a good man in mine please :)

3 weeks till Erica and i can get together to cavort and plan our 3 days cruise! Sad that i'm excited about being able to get together and plan for a cruise that's supposed to tie us over until the big event in Sept of 2008.

I suppose we'll just have to head out for some spa treatments on land...you know, so we can figure out what sort of things we want in sept :) And there should be copious amounts of drinking...you know..so we can practice mixing drinks NOW so that by the time October is here, we're experts! :rotfl:

Right on, sistah! I'm thinking pedicures, and pomegranate martinis for starters.....

hehe

*barrys a man for you and puts an x on the sand* "dig him up"

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I really really like it - I don't know if I consider myself a "seasoned cruiser" but I did do alot of research (and poke around this place alot) prior to our other two cruises and I STILL found lots of cool information. I would definitely recommend it. If used correctly, you could save that $22 on the cruise by taking some of their advice, and then you'd break even!

I was looking around to see what dates I might want to go and the 4 night right after yours was a possiblility... I thought since we had the alcohol switch under the palm tree planned with another cruiser... I thought we could meet and swap leftovers (not from the cups!!! )... But then reality smacked me up the head with ..."Yeah...sure...like there's going to be anything left!!!" :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

I was just about to say......you underestimate us, my friend :rotfl:

Ok... next time I'll put more than 3 smilies with drinks!!!!

Tink, Thanks for the Passporter link :thumbsup2
You RULE!

Update:
I couldn't wait! I stopped by Borders after dinner tonight and purchased the new one! I kept telling myself.... Erica says I will save at least this much with the great tips.......Now to start some big time planning.

Database, is the "new" one you just bought the 06 edition or 07? Does the '07 have a lot of new information? I have the '06 one, is there enough difference in the 2 to consider grabbing the '07 version too?
:confused3

Thanks!:)

It probably has about the Med cruises in it - I know the authors took a RC cruise last year with most of the same itineraries so they could at least give an idea of the ports, etc... they DID remark how they found RC rooms MUCH smaller!!!

Next years will have the Mexico ports I guess...

Even the basic stuff about the ships is great!!!

Oh... and you're all welcome for the link!

Nenner1,

I have the Walt Disney World Resort Passporter 07 version "expanded for use through 2008" We couldn't swing a DCL Vacation in 2008, it still brings tears to my eyes to think about it....:sad1: But I'm getting a WDW so:thumbsup2

Once again, TinkRULES! Looks like Tink has the lowdown on the Cruise Passporter! (ughh, I'm in cruise withdrawl! That God for Erica's Trippie!)

I was just on passporter.com to see how to register my new purchase.
It appears that we can update pages on line? I'm still trying to figure out what the crap I'm doing. (But that'd be another thread)

Thanks...

But it was sincerely luck...

And signing up for their e mails....

This is great I'm on the DVC member cruise on Oct 19th... Thanks for the great laughs it's hard to pretend like I'm working when I'm laughing....I'm hooked

You are most welcome, and thank you for the kind words! We'll try to warm up the boat for you :goodvibes

yay only um 8 more days till we can bombard lionel with planning things! YAY!

*insert evil laughter*

I was starting to feel guilty for not having updated recently, and then you posted. Perfect timing! :goodvibes

You don't have Lionel running around getting all kinds of little things to pack already?????

I'm lucky that he pretends to listen to all of my planning details! :rotfl: He's more of a "I'll have fun when we get there" kind of guy, where I actually enjoy the planning almost as much as the vacation.

That's ok - me and silversae will just leave him at home while we shop ;)

Well, I was kind of hoping that this weekend I could change the title of this pre-trippie to "Geeks Blow Millions!!!" but as it turns out we did NOT win the Firecracker raffle.

Geeks on a Budget it is, then.

Oh go buy another lottery ticket and then we can ALL go on the trip with you!!!

I feel for you. We actually won powerball this past Saturday.

I felt like the kid on the bike from the old Jon Cusak movie "Better Off Dead" walking into the grocery store going "I WANT MY $3!"
