Ok. What say you? Mostly a resort with a couple of park days. Not worried about busses or transportation. Looking for the best place to unwind after a park day. How packed the pools and common areas are is the most important factors. Would def go with AKL if I knew standard wouldn’t be a parking lot( the extra 150 a nite for savannah is out of our price range) but curious of others opinions.

I think AKL and Wilderness both have nicer pools and places to hang out around the resort.

Jambo has a larger pool deck that I have never found too crowded. You may know this already but there are many standard view rooms at AKL that actually overlook the savannah. The reason why they are called standard is because the people pens (where people go if hotel has an evacuation) are directly underneath them. There are many of these rooms and you are correct they're are some rooms that look out at the front of the resort but it's not as bad of a parking lot view as other resorts, there's lots of foliage between the rooms and the parking lot. There's also many many spots in the resort where you can view the animals so even if you don't have a savannah view room you will have ample opportunity to see the animals.

Personally, not a fan of Akl. Love both Wilderness lodge and Gran Destino Tower. Can't beat the location of the WL and Gran Destino rooms are much larger than either of the other two resorts plus a standard room at Gdt has some of the best views of both the Epcot and Hollywood studios fireworks. Plus both outdoor lounges at WL (Geyser Point) and Cs (Three bridges bar and grill) are fantastic.
Club level at Gdt is fantastic (better than most deluxe resorts CL)

Wilderness is my number one.. I do like Jambo as well when in full operation with the cultural guides etc.. but without them Wilderness gets the edge!

WL for sure! Balcony to spread out and newly remodeled rooms. Also, Geyser Point is perfect!

I would be a WL lean if you're going to focus mostly on resort time. It has a really nice laid-back vibe, good lounges, good views. I would say AKL, but savannah view is half the experience for me personally. They do have really great food and pool bars, though. GDT is one of my favorite resorts on property. But I probably wouldn't choose it for a long trip that was mostly resort focused.
