At GCH, one time we had the Standard view (which, as Godalejunior explained, is the view of the DLH and PPH hotels) and the other time we had a DTD view. Personally I loved the DTD view. The noise didn't bother me, and I liked going out onto the balcony to sit and people watch. Plus, we got a bonus view of the fireworks in DL, which we did not expect. That was great. The only 'problem' with the DTD view rooms, if there is one (other than possible noise from DTD), was the fact that it was a very long walk from the elevator, down seemingly endless corridors, to get to the room, whereas the Standard rooms are closer to the elevator. This was okay, but just beware of that in case: A) You are dragging your own luggage to your room - the walk to a DTD room could seem like an hour with heavy bags; or B) You have anyone in your party with orthopedic or podiatric problems or mobility issues, as the extra steps could be agonizing for them.
