GCH or PPH

What did the Sephora makeover entail? I would also like the feedback on staying in a DTD view room.:wizard:

I did not do the Sephora makeover thing but it sounded pretty cool from the description on the event calendar.

We have had a garden view room and view of the DLH and PP hotels from our rooms at GC. Both were great. I have seen some people like and dislike the DTD view rooms, mainly because of the noise. I think if you have small ones that sleep in or nap that may be an issue. I think it would be cool to people watch and enjoy the music, etc. :goodvibes

At GCH, one time we had the Standard view (which, as Godalejunior explained, is the view of the DLH and PPH hotels) and the other time we had a DTD view. Personally I loved the DTD view. The noise didn't bother me, and I liked going out onto the balcony to sit and people watch. Plus, we got a bonus view of the fireworks in DL, which we did not expect. That was great. The only 'problem' with the DTD view rooms, if there is one (other than possible noise from DTD), was the fact that it was a very long walk from the elevator, down seemingly endless corridors, to get to the room, whereas the Standard rooms are closer to the elevator. This was okay, but just beware of that in case: A) You are dragging your own luggage to your room - the walk to a DTD room could seem like an hour with heavy bags; or B) You have anyone in your party with orthopedic or podiatric problems or mobility issues, as the extra steps could be agonizing for them.

You pay the initial $35 fee and then you are given a credit for $35 worth of purchases. THey split you up between the make-up artists and are given a makeover with product recommendations. They also do the skin cleansing products, so come with a no make-up face.

It's fun - especially when you do it with a girlfriend or daughter!

We have stayed at the DLHC level 2 years ago. We wanted to try the GCHC level so we stayed there last year. I cannot speak for the PPH as we have not stayed there. The pool area is alot better at DLH and the water slide is faster as you do not slow down in the middle of the slide. We spend time at the hotel as well as the parks especially the pool area. The GCH is closer to DCA but you can enter the monoral from DLH so entrance to DL is actually closer if you use the monorail as we do. I do agree that the DLH needs an update. The room size is larger at DLH vs GCH and the views are better as you are higher up. We did like the story teller down at the fire / hearth and up at the C level. It was very convenant to be staying at the GCH when we were went on GRR. We will be back at DLH but we will probbly try the GCH again some time in the future.

What can you tell me about the pool area? Is there a room with treadmills, etc. there? Thanks for all of the good info so far.....:wizard:

The pool area is very nice with cushy lounge chairs. The Redwood pool has the large tree trunk with the water slide going around it and then there is another large pool across the courtyard without a slide. Redwood also has a kiddie slide too. I saw at least one hot tub but for some reason I think there may be two....not sure as we only used the one. WWS is right there to get food and drinks which was nice and lots of people bought lunch there and brought it into the pool area. The restrooms are right there also which is nice. DS actually liked the pool at GC better than DLH, which surprised me.

3 Pools and a hot tub
Center front long olimpic size pool
Kiddie pool next to it
Rewood with big slide and a kiddie slide
Hot tub
I do not know abot the tread mills as we did not visit them. We did use Pinocchio's Workshop and DS wanted to go back again. DS will do Pinocchio's Workshop again on our trip this year as well.
