GC refrigerators

I was reading in a guide book that the refrigerators in the standard gc rooms are prestocked, pressure sensitive and charge you automatically if you move things around. However, the book was a couple years old. Can anyone who has stayed there recently comment on this. We were planning on a vons delivery, will we have space to put our groceries?

Are you staying in the hotel side? Or the DVC rooms? If a DVC room, then it's a regular mini- refrigerator. On the hotel side, I think it was just a mini-bar type fridge. But I could be mistaken.

We have stayed at GCH many times and they have always been regular mini fridges, no mini bars. We keep our diet pepsi in them!

I read the same guidebook before my trip last year and had to call the hotel to get the answer which was: "No, they are not stocked and have not been for many years." The person I spoke with was not sure that they had ever been prestocked, so perhaps that was when the hotel first opened? These guide books can be pretty dated which must cause a lot of unnecessary calls to the resort. The refrigerators in the standard hotel rooms are small but will hold a half gallon of milk and some groceries.

As long as I've been staying there (2004) I have never seen a fridge pre-stocked! I'd take that guide book and throw it in the trash... Stay on the DIS for the most accurate information!

They are absolutely NOT pre-stocked. (except for the half-drank root beer we found in there last week)

They were originally pre-stocked with the Grand first opened - I stayed there 6 months after opening. Since the Grand was a upscale disney hotel, they thought the guests would like a pre-stocked mini bar like other luxury hotels. Guess they found out quickly that it was not a priority at DLR! Much prefer it as a mini fridge!
