I'm almost certain it's $5 per box/package at all resorts now - unless you can meet the delivery before Disney handles it.

Although could be more at conference resorts.

We were just at All Star Sports in November and got groceries delivered. They were dropped off at bell services and we picked them up later. There was no charge for that.

I think the package delivery fee is up to interpretation depending on who handles it?

I'm not sure how it works but I've seen many threads regarding it. I've just never paid much attention because we don't have anything delivered to us.

A few Dis threads:

Again. I'm not sure how it works as I've never had anything delivered to the resorts outside the Parks package delivery.

But I will say though, the first time visitors, the one and were done crowd, and such will probably not be phased by this at all. They will pay it without any regards to pricing. Just like they will spend more money on food, in the gift shops, up charge experiences and such. This is really who Disney really wants to be there, not the frequent flyers who budget, plan and know the best value of things.

There's plenty of returnees that insist on staying at deluxe resorts though, or split stays. I think Disney is well aware of that, and I'm not sure whether being a returnee or a first time person factors into where you choose to stay.

If I lived closer, and could drive, I'd be more inclined to stay offsite. I looked into it as a first timer, but it wasn't cheaper and it was less convenient. Some people stay offsite solo and onsite with family or vice Versa. Some people stay offsite because they have a large family and plenty of people camp at FW for the same reason. Some people stay onsite for the bubble and some people stay offsite because they think food is too expensive onsite.

The only money that I really do think Disney "loses" on returnees is souvenir money, but on the other hand, there are a lot of returnees that collect stuff and there are probably a lot of first timers that don't spend much at all in the parks. My parents weren't souvenir people at Disney or anywhere else, and they were pack a lunch people too. So Disney does make shopping and dining as tempting as possible because they hope people will spend money they don't plan too.

Anyway. Point is, I don't think Disney has any scheme to price out returnees. Those people are a large part of their bread and butter- snag them once, and give them a bounce back, and they are likely to stay again, maybe at a more expensive property.

For deliveries directly by "the company" to Bell Services (eg Amazon Prime Now; Garden Grocer; Turner Drugs) there is no fee.

For deliveries by the Postal Service or a shipping/courier service (UPS, FedEx, DHS, etc), there is a $5 fee per item/package/box at the non-convention resorts and a variable fee (weight ? size? both? per item) at the convention resorts (they have a business centre that receives the packages).

Not sure if this his new to a value resort? Haven't stayed value since 2015. But pool towels are available poolside. If new, perhaps due to no mousekeeping test?

I always decline housekeeping when I'm solo. Maybe ask for towels on day 3 but I'm actually fine reusing towels one time so I could make it for my whole trip with the standard 4. (I usually only stay 4-5 nights) I'd be happy with any amount of credit for declining something I would have declined for free. :teeth:

I was at the Gaylord Opryland hotel last month and they offered 500 Marriott member pts per day if you opt out of housekeeping. You had to opt out for your whole stay, but they would bring soaps/shampoo/towels if you needed them.

Tomorrow is check out. We usually tip housekeeping, but not sure what amount would be appropriate? I realize tipping isn't necessary.

I'd tip more in this situation than I would for one night...but I'd base the the overall size of the tip on the condition of our room. If your room will require a ton of work, then tip for every day of your trip. If you are leaving a pretty clean room given the circumstances, tip for every second night (or so) of your trip.

That's what I would do. And I am someone who worked for tips in college. Just be fair. I think that's a good standard.

Would you be able to say like I decline housing keeping the first 3 days of my trip I want them to come on day 4 and then not clean days 5 & 6?
