NOW....even better.....there I was standing in line at BTMRR. I started talking with a tall New Yorker behind me.....wearing a red shirt so I assumed he was down for THE weekend vs me down for the weekend.

We really hit it off and hung out together the next day. I exchanged phone numbers with the harmess gay guy and headed home. When he got home....he called me EVERY DAY!!! I couldn't figure out why this GAY GUY was calling me.......until I discovered, he had no idea about Gay Day weekend and red shirts. He wasn't Gay and we are now coming up on our 4th wedding anniversary later this month!!!!




psssst.....I don't care if you do not support gay people, it's your choice. You DO have to admit the story is funny!!!!!

I won't let my husband kiss me too much in public for this reason. I hate seeing people making out in public. I don't care if its two girls, two guys, or one of each I just don't want to watch you make out.

Holding hands. Hugs, quick pecks even a bit of a more drawn out kiss during the fireworks or for a picture is all good no matter who it is with but dont' want to see you making out!!

This isn't even about the "younger members" of the group as I have never gone with anyone under 8 and I'm pretty sure by then she had seen people make out. she also knows some people that are gay because her older sister seems to have alot of gay male friends (which I can't blame her some of my best friends in HS and college were gay guys, they can talk about how much guys suck when your in a bad mood due to your b/f, will drool over cute guys with you etc, yet give much better advise because even if they aren't straight they are still male and seem to understand where our guys are coming from more!)

I do have to admit I was curious about this as well. Doesn't make a difference but I was just wondering. Because Night of Joy, Candlelight processionals, MNSSHP, food and wine, flower and garden festival, and all the other WDW celebrations seem to have much more press on Disney's sites then gay days. I couldn't see Disney sponsoring it then trying to keep it quiet so I wondered if maybe it wasn't really organized by them. It really doesn't make a difference just like it doesn't really make a difference to me how many other things are done but that doesn't stop me from being curious!

Not a Disney event. But I will tell you that I would rather be at the park during Gay week then when the pop warner, cheerleaders, or Brazilian groups are at the parks. The atmosphere is much more relaxed, and the people have better manners.

There will always be some people, no matter whether hetero or gay that will have PDA's that you don't approve of. Here's the thing though, people don't start whole threads asking if they should avoid HETERO's at the park. Not possible, right?

So if you saw a hetero couple making out, you would think it was inappropriate, but would you blame ALL of the hetero people in the world and want to go to the park when they weren't there? Maybe you wouldn't want to go to WDW at all b/c there's always so many hetero's there and your small child might be exposed to PDAs? Sounds stupid when you turn it around, but it's exactly what people are doing when they act like all gay people are a certain way. They are just people, families, friends, and they are ALWAYS at the parks, not just on gay days.

well maybe it wouldnt be as shocking if we hadnt grown up in such a conservative family, but just the small stuff. Some of the shirts were midly explicit and certain words and PDA were common.

It was definitely was not everyone and yes, anyone could've been using the same language but there was kissing and inappropriate gestures in line for Pirates that we wanted to let a couple of people in front of us for the sake of the younger children with our party.
I just didn't know if this was encouraged by Disney or just supported.

That same couple is happy,kissing each other,letting doves and hart shaped balloons fly.

Just because I'm curious what is your country? You don't have a location under your name and I can't remember if I have seen you post where your from before.

I would like a place like that. I might still attend catholic church if during high school the catholic churches didn't replace 90% of our homilies with letters from the bishop because our state just started allowing same sex marriage. I couldn't understand how an organization that had been teaching me to love people regardless of their faults and that it was not for me to judge because God would do that in heaven for years that two people in love getting married was a crisis. I lost my faith not in God but in my church at that time. I was not the only one. Since then have the catholic churches in my town has closed because they lost most of their younger members and even many in my parents generation who while they were not as outraged as I was thought it was pretty ridiculous to read a gospel passage about tolerance then read a letter from the bishop about writing legislators to stop same sex marriage.

it might be the netherlands we have had a very tolerant country to the gay communty
