If you work for the Government (in any department) you can ask for 'Government Discount'. Just watch out when you ring up and ask for it because not all staff are aware of it. I rang three times, speaking to different people each time before I found someone who knew about the discount and how to bring it up on their computer. I don't think you can get discount off every type of room but we've booked an executive room for only £145 plus vat which is a lot cheaper than the advertised price. For us it works out cheaper than a standard room cos you get access to the exec lounge with drinks/snacks and breakfast included.
