I used this http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-...357453,-81.404366&iwstate1=dir:to&iwloc=A&f=d using the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal to Gatorland. It shows about 16 miles. When are you planning to go? The address I used for Universal Hotel was 6000 Universal Blvd.

Cab ride would be a little pricey since it really isn't located near disney or universal. You will only spend about 4 hours MAX at gatorland but if you like gators than it is worth it. They have a few shows throughout the day.
