Gaston at Disneyland?

Does anyone know of Gaston makes character appearances at Disneyland? Or if Gaston's tavern is at Disneyland?

I know he's at Disneyworld - we were there last March and got to meet him (he was hilarious) and ate at Gaston's tavern. But we're going to DL in 8 days and I've downloaded the Disneyland app but never see his name on the character list. Also I don't see Gaston's tavern on the map - it looks like the Rose Tavern is where Gaston's would be?

It wouldn't make sense for DL not to have Gaston - especially after the release of the new Beauty & the Beast movie...

I'm asking because this will be my 3 year old's first Disney trip and she's a huge fan of Beauty and The Beast ( The Original animated) and Gaston is one of her favorites.
She also has a bunch of princess dresses and I'm trying to decided which one to bring. I'd bring her Belle dress if I thought she could meet Gaston...

They had him there briefly last summer, but he didn't seem to stick. But I'd bring the dress. There is currently a Red Rose Taverne overlay on Village Haus in FL. The indoor seating is divided into the castle side and Gaston's side. You can also get drinks in a stein with his face on it at Maurice's Treats in PFF and I think Belle and the Beast are still greeting.

I was eating at the Red Rose Tavern last week and Gaston walked by. Not sure if he ever really stopped anywhere for photos or to sign autographs. Belle in her blue dress and the Beast did a similar flyby. None of them were on the Disney App.

I had never seen Gaston or the Beast in DL in the parks before. Others might have more info.

I can't tell you whether she can meet Gaston or not.

Here's what I can tell you: red Rose used to be called village haus, or along those lines. They added an overlay of Beauty and the Beast and renamed it Red Rose in Feb. Gaston was wandering around then- it was presented as a limited time special, probably to hype up the new movie. So I don't know if Gaston is around but if it's still the Rose, your pricess can still get her dose of B&B.

Just saw him yesterday on the side trail of the Fantasy Land castle pass through to Tomorrowland so he is out and about

I wonder if they brought Gaston back out because the DVD is coming out. I expect he'll be gone before we get back later this year though.

I've seen him around, especially in the morning. He seems to start in the Royal Theatre/Royal Hall area and walks around through Fantasyland. He definitely prances and you have to get his attention/be a little kid dressed up to stop him. I'd bet that as long as the Village Haus is Red Rose Tavern he may still be around. But he doesn't have a published schedule or locations so it can be hit or miss.

The best time for casual character interactions is the morning when it's not crazy. I saw Gaston walking near the carousel and Peter Pan was following him making fun of him! Then Gaston turned and saw and got really mad! But Peter noticed a baby in a stroller and stopped to play peek-a-boo! Adorable!

He's been a roaming character (as opposed to a character who does structured meet and greets) consistently since last fall. I'm actually acquainted with one of the guys who plays him.

He has an inconsistent schedule and is supposed to "continually keep moving," so you can generally grab a quick selfie, but he won't stop and pose. He also doesn't sign things. He's very amusing! I recommend asking the character workers over in Fantasy Faire the best time and place to possibly encounter him.

Gaston, Belle and Beast randomly wander around Fantasyland. This past Thursday I saw Gaston interacting with guests in front of Dumbo and when DS and I rode the carousel Beast and Belle were riding two rows behind us. The Red Rose Tavern has a lot of Gaston on the one side and music from the movie.

Yep, I also saw Gaston this past Saturday roaming around while I was eating outside at Red Rose Tavern. He walked by a few times and stopped very quickly for photos, but he is definitely on the move. Inside the Tavern, Gaston's section is on the right side with lots of antler chandeliers and décor. Belle's section is on the left side and is more feminine with Rose stained glass windows. I'm glad I sat outside though and was able to see Gaston! Oh, and don't forget to try the grey stuff

Phew that is awesome news! At least there WAS a recwbt sighting,lol. He was awesome at WDW - my teenage son and his friend stood in line to get pix with him just so they could send then back home to my daughter but they ended up in a biggest muscles/ " who eats the most eggs " contest, lol. B&B are nice but meeting them wouldn't be the same without her meeting Gaston too. Some kids like the villains lol.

So what I'm getting s that he IS there but not "officially" scheduled which is why he's nit showing up on the character list on The app, and that I will probably have to hang out in that section out Fantasy land and hope to see a walk-by or ask a CM where/when to find him?

We saw him over Spring Break and as others have said, he's roaming and not in one location. My memory agrees with the others that he won't sign autographs, but he did stop for a posed picture with my kids. And quite a bit of interaction for a roaming character. My oldest had just turned 13 and he looked at her and said "Happy Birthday! I'm the best present you've ever gotten".

Last I heard was "at least into the summer," but that was probably a month or two ago that he said that. I'll ask if I have a chance!

I have seen him in the parks since last August. All around Fantasyland areas. Roaming and being awesome. Banter between Gaston and Belle is priceless as well.

I saw him this morning but can't remember exact location--in Fantasyland though.
He was muttering about needing to find a mirror to look at himself. Stopped briefly for photo with a girl who was following him.

Saw him at the end of April strolling down by the teacups and the matterhorn....he was stopping for photos and chatting with folks....

We were there last week and he was the character we saw the most. He's pretty entertaining. Very pompous and in character. My wife asked if she could take a picture with him and he said " You may take a picture of me as I walk away". I recommend hanging out around the Royal Theatre. Catch one of the plays there and you will have a good chance to see him.

Saw him yesterday near the carrousel while we'd were on our WIWDF tour. He was fun.
