Gas $$$ for DD boyfriend

The OP does have a city bus.. the 406 NJ Transit goes through Cherry Hill as well as other locales. Theres another bus that goes down Kings Hwy (453 I think), and another one that goes down Rt. 73.

The Patco train is a little more challenging, but not as bad if you are within walking distance of the train stations (Ashland, Woodcrest, Haddonfield-W. Cherry Hill, )

We won't even speak of the Riverline.. very convenient but Pennsauken is as close as you can get

I know when I was 17 I was given a car, with the strong expectation that I would pay for all repairs, all insurance, all gas, all towing charges, etc. I was working since I was about 12 years old, so this was a no brainer. Plus I was an honor student, perfect attendance, plus pulling down 1-2 jobs during high school.

By 17 I was out on my own, with my own apartment.

No job, no car... end of discussion. If you can't pay, you don't play.

I think it's kind of you, and I would do the same in the same situation.

I think you are correct. I didn't know there were still people out there that think the boy should pay for everything. In my DD's group the guys and girls will pay for things especially couples that have been dating a while. Unless it is a first date or a special thing like a birthday they pay their own way into things and both drive/take turns, or help out with gas.

I have a boy still too young to date but I hope who ever he hangs out with in a few years doesn't expect him to pay for everything!

I think teaching girls that boys should pay for everything puts them in a situation of expecting to put out in exchange! And I raised my step-daughter who is now 21. My only problem in your situation is that he is not paying for the gas and might not put the money towards gas. I would probably pay for them to go to dinner or something like that.
