Gary DeLena - What Happened?

I remember a post about an issue with Gary DeLena a few months ago. Does anyone know what the resolution of that issue was? Is he back on the ships? We really enjoyed his show on our two previous Magic cruises and were hoping to see him again this December. Does anyone have any info?

He is a pretty funny comedian who also played the guitar. He has been on two cruises with us. 50-ish guy, brown hair, balding. His show was touted as being "the Rock and Roll comedy of Gary DeLena"

Now I'm tempted to google and see what the matter was....

Personally, I think this is hilarious, but people get uptight about some pretty strange things.

I didn't find anything objectionable about the soccer dad song. I heard it last NYE on the magic. Wonder what else went on....hmm a magical mystery

I know someone posted that he was left behind in Pisa, but that's pretty hard to fathom - leaving him on another continent?

I watched the clip and you can hear kids in ther audience, so I though maybe someone could have complained about his references to violent behavior, given the mixed audience?

I have to laugh because watching the clip I made sure the kids weren't around....I kept expecting him to drop trou or something You are right that it is amazing what some people object to/or find acceptable.

As for dropping him at a strange port, it is quite common for entertainers on DCL to come and go from foreign ports. Many of the acts left half way through our cruises and new ones came. Others stayed the entire week but they were the bigger headliners.

The same people who find that offensive probably have no problems with Spongebob, or letting them watch POC.

That video was really funny. I wished I would have caught his act on the Med. (before getting kicked off)

I had not seen that video before, that can't be the reason.
I never heard of the guy, he wasn't on our cruise.
However, in checking his website, and the internet, he isn't performing ANYWHERE. Maybe he won the lottery and retired.

that was totally non-offensive. there has to be some other reason he left. in our community his soccer dad routine is sad but true, but perhaps even sadder is that is could have been about soccer moms. in my community they (we) are worse!!! same applies to cheer, swim, dance, pta and anything else. Ladies (and men) take it with humor. roll with it, and remember the good of the kids that need to learn to try hard and be graceful in winning AND losing.
