Yes, many prom goers may be wearing thongs so that they do not have pantylines etc. But I am hoping they are not decorated with lace and feathers and have PROM 2008 on them and are not given to the young man to wear on his arm or hang in his rear view mirror......
Just kidding. As I op I just have never heard or seen this. If it is a tradition and it is like the corsage...saved as a keepsake it is cute. It just seemed like it was a symbol...wearing the garter sort of like..hey look what I have....didnt mean to stir up trouble.

but my friends and I had ours just above our knee. The guys would take it off and put it on their arm....I guess it was cool in the pictures.
We were looking up prom flowers to try to get an idea for boutonnieres (Spelling??) they have the strangest flowers. Look here
Didn't do it at mine.
Thank goodness - I have SEEN my prom pictures.....what was I thinking!
