I bought both of these GPS systems today for DH, with the thought of reading reviews and then returning one of them.

I have found all sorts of reviews for the Garmin, and am liking what I'm seeing, but I can't find any reviews for this model of the Nextar.

Anyone have experience with either of these systems?? :confused3

My daughter (20) loves her Garmin [I think it is the Nuvi 200, but am not sure.]. Her experience is so positive that I have adjusted my skepticism regarding these devices and am buying one for her younger sister for Christmas (please don't tell! ;) ).

I can't tell you anyting about the other one, but I think you will do fine with the Garmin.

I bought my daughter (20) the Garmin Nuvi 250 last Christmas and she just loves it. Recalculates directions quickly if you make a wrong turn. Directions are easy to follow.

Garmin is the way to go. Maps from Navteq are awesome, accurate and update quickly on the Garmin. I have a 200 already and just purchased a 205w at Dell for $129.00.

I bought a Garmin for my North America travels but ended up with the 270 because it also includes Europe maps. It found my very remote former address in the mountains, so I was impressed. I haven't yet tested it on some more challenging routes such as the parking garage in Salzburg (which is actually inside a mountain, so confuses many nav systems)

Tonight I am again in a strange town and my Garmin found my hotel and found my dinner and the remote place I am headed next.

I paid $154 on Amazon, down from over $600, and am very pleased with it.

Thanks, all! I'm going to return the other one, then! DH really wants one - even though he only drives 1 mile to work, and that's about all the driving he does! :lmao: We'll see what he does with it...so I don't need top of the line, just something that will work, and, I guess, get DH to work on time! :rotfl2:
