Garden View Lounge Tea vs. Grand Floridian Cafe (lunch)

Hi Everybody!

I am trying to decide this last ADR for my upcoming Dec. trip with my Mom. We are spending a day at MK and I thought, we'd run over to GF to check out the decorations and to take a break in the middle of the day. Both, the Garden View Lounge Tea and Grand Floridian Cafe sound wonderful, but I must decide. Also is there a dress code, since we'd be coming from the park, dressed in capri pants and t-shirts? I am overthinking and overplanning but this trip is a very big deal for us

DH and I had the tea at GF last week, and it was WONDERFUL! We both said we want to go back. Very relaxing and not at all stuffy. I had on capris and a nice top, and most others had the usual park attire (shorts and Tshirts). I've not eaten at the GF Cafe but since it's just you and Mom, I'd go for the tea. We each had the Buckingham Palace, and came away stuffed. Have fun!

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried to call and reserve a table for the tea but ...all booked. Hovewer, I was lucky enough to get my second choice, the lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Oh, well, may be next time...

I have read some great reviews regarding the Grand Floridian Cafe on here lately! I bet you will have a great time.

The GF Tea was incredible...DH and I went in April (pics and review in my link) and we were wearing Dis tee's and shorts....really relaxing experience

I am sorry you didn't get to book the tea but I think you will have a wonderful time at GFC! And leave room for dessert! (And don't feel guilty about eating that dessert!)

we've done both (the tea, and lunch at the cafe)

both are wonderful, but if you can't get an ADR for the tea, try for lunch at the cafe - it's so pretty there, the service is great, and the food is very very good - especially the mini desserts!

I was worried that the GF Cafe would be too stuffy for my DH, but we had a fantastic time. The servers were super friendly and the food was great. Dh loves telling everyone about the hamburger he had that had lobster on it.

You'll love it and the resort is such an experience to walk through!

I'm taking my mom for the tea in december, but I would not mind having to go back to the cafe instead.
