I had "The Tea" here the weekend of April 1, 2007.
The sandwiches were preplated, and I received no explanation for what they were. There were four kinds, one of which was cucumber (consisting of one slice of unpeeled cucumber and a bit of bedraggled watercress) one seafood (crab and chicken perhaps?) one fruit based as in maybe fig and cream cheese and I don't recall the fourth. The bread they were made on was so dried out that it was curling back from the thin fillings on each sandwich.
The scones were small(ish) and cold with crunchy bottoms. There was a small dab (maybe a teaspoon) of devonshire cream for the scone. It was inadequate to the task.
The pastries were fine. We had the small eclair and the cream puff swan (filled with passion fruit custard filling). There were other choices too. (Cakes, strawberries and cream...).
For the money (roughly $25 per person) I'll take a ride to Mt. Dora and have my "proper English Tea" at the Windsor Rose.
