Do you get to pick your sandwiches, or do they serve a variety? I hate to pay money for something I won't eat! How are the desserts? Anything I don't want to miss??

I had "The Tea" here the weekend of April 1, 2007.

The sandwiches were preplated, and I received no explanation for what they were. There were four kinds, one of which was cucumber (consisting of one slice of unpeeled cucumber and a bit of bedraggled watercress) one seafood (crab and chicken perhaps?) one fruit based as in maybe fig and cream cheese and I don't recall the fourth. The bread they were made on was so dried out that it was curling back from the thin fillings on each sandwich.

The scones were small(ish) and cold with crunchy bottoms. There was a small dab (maybe a teaspoon) of devonshire cream for the scone. It was inadequate to the task.

The pastries were fine. We had the small eclair and the cream puff swan (filled with passion fruit custard filling). There were other choices too. (Cakes, strawberries and cream...).

For the money (roughly $25 per person) I'll take a ride to Mt. Dora and have my "proper English Tea" at the Windsor Rose.

My mother and I had the exact opposite experience. We both had the Buckingham Palace ($19.50 per person w/out tip). Our server was very friendly and knowledgable about the teas and sandwiches and described each one. They were egg salad, chicken salad, shrimp salad, cucumber/watercress and pear/gorgonzola. Each was on a different kind of bread and all were really good....some were better than others though. Mom ordered the fresh strawberries and cream while I chose the pastries. She said her strawberries were wonderful (I tasted and they were very sweet and fresh). I enjoyed my selection as well. I'm taking my DD10 in October for a girls-only outing. My tea (Eros) was yummy and I can't wait to have it again! My mother and I both agreed that it was the highlight of our trip. It ranked higher than the P&PP!

I personally didn't care for the sandwiches. I always now get the Sally Lunn tea. It includes the Sally Lunn bread, a trifle, and I get the cinnamon spice pot of tea (I have the cinnamon spice tea at home nearly every day now, I buy it by the pound from Harney - which is the company that supplies the tea to Disney).

My husband had a slice of the lemon cake - which was so lemony, you could have squeezed it like a sponge and had tons of lemon come out. :) They had a LOT of whipped cream (I think unsweetend) on it to combat the tartness. It tasted great, though!

Hello - I was just wondering what the Sally Lunn Bread is exactly as I am going to the tea May 6th with a friend and it sounds interesting. My Mom is British actually so maybe she would know but I figured I'd ask here first. Thanks.

Yum that sounds good I love pound cake and the lemon cake also sounds really good too. I'm not sure about the tea sandwiches but i'd like to try them perhaps. Thanks for the info!!

If you are allergic to any of the sandwiches, they will prepare different ones for you. My sister is allergic to seafood and the chef came out and talked to her. I believe she got a ham and cheese one and another one in place of the seafood ones. I had the strawberries and cream and I thought they were very good, sweet and not tart.

I found the full tea here to be consistently wonderful. I've done it twice and I'll be going again in January. Just talk with the person serving the tea and they will generally ensure that you get a plate of sandwiches you will enjoy. They used to have a smoked salmon sandwich, which I can't eat due to an allergy. They switched it out for me, and did the same for my sister with the egg salad and for her that's just a dislike.
