Garden Rocks concert series 2016

We get Darlene Love :sad1: I would have much preferred the Gin Blossoms, if we hadn't already booked flights I would reschedule our trip. On the plus side, I bet my kids will love her music, they pretty much love anything with a beat.

Question about the concert series. Are each of the performances on the same day the same? We have never need and will need to move some Dining reservations around. Any tips and thoughts would be appreciated

No, the groups vary the sets so if you're looking for a particular song, you may need to sit through 2 or all 3 sets to hear it. I haven't found a pattern to the sets historically. Some times they do their best stuff up front, other times it comes in the 2nd or 3rd set.

Thank you. I think we will only be able to catch one set but that is better than nothing.

I'm so upset I DON'T get to see Darlene Love! I'll be there in March and April but not May. Absolutely love her!

Anyone hear if they will offer fast passes for the concerts like they did for Eat to the Beat concerts? It worked so great for Eat to the Beat.

We're going to see Bad Company, not my first choice but not bad, either! My DH and I were just saying that we've enjoyed some concerts of bands we wouldn't have expected to like ahead of time. There's something about the atmosphere of hearing live music, being at Epcot, etc. I think it's worth giving a band a chance if you happen to be there anyway. :)

We will be there then too!

No FP -- I logged on to try to get one for ELO and it was not one of the choices.

Blech! Darlene Love?? Really? What a waste. Seriously, Universal gets actual current talent for their concerts and we get...a Ronette.

Looks like our focus will be the food.

You mean like Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Iggy Azalea?... Opps my bad, you did use the word "Talent." :rotfl2::rotfl::laughing::lmao:

I saw Micky Dolenz. I think his sister was on stage as well.

I thought he was good. Not Davy, but good still.

Sad that Davy Jones is no longer with us. I am so glad I had the opportunity to see him. I think these concerts are great!!

Noone in the lineup I am interested in this year after all.....after waiting and waiting. So I am spending Friday in MK!!

I would still like to see Peter Noone. I think he would round out my list.

I have Adele tickets for Houston for next November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got them the old fashioned way. I stood in line at my local Randall's store.
Can you believe it! My nephew thought I was nuts. But my strategy worked!!!! I was the first one there before customer service even opened.

We saw Peter Noone last year and plan to see him again this year. He is fantastic. He sounds just like he did all those years ago. So many of the oldies groups are in name only with the original members retired or passed on but still fun hearing the songs. I was hoping for Mickey Dolenz myself I've seen the Monkees twice once in 1966 at the height of their careers and again in the 80's.

Wow, how cool is that that you saw the Monkees!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing Couch Tater!!!

I used to dream that Davy Jones was going to come visit me. Had all the teen idol magazines and posters. I was pretty young (haha!) when I look back on it, compared to what my daughters were in to at the same age. Dark Shadows anyone?????????????

Had a Bobby Sherman poster hanging on my closet door. Anyone remember him????

I bought my 14 year old a record player for Christmas! What a hoot! It was like something from "Planet of the Apes" the way she and her older sister studied the machine and circled around, trying to figure it out. So funny!!

Of course I busted out my Monkees album and it sounded fantastic!! Along with Herman's Hermits. Boy did I play those things!!

Remember just hanging out in your room and listening to records. We would play them all the way thru, both sides.

Needless to say my best friend and I really had crushes on all the Brits. We took our first trip to Europe when we joined a school group trip at age 14.

Then of course we had a crush on our tour bus driver Harry~in London.

Going to see another Brit this November. Adele will be in Houston!!!!!

Good times. Everyone enjoy Garden Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darlene Love isn't a Ronette. She was in the Crystals. She sings He's a Rebel, Da Do Ron Ron, etc...

She did plenty of backing vocals for the Ronettes. And she was part of the group the Blossoms. The Crystals (who Love was not a part of at the time but later did vocals for) were credited with He's a Rebel even though The Blossoms actually recorded it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/He's_a_Rebel

Still boring LOL.

She has pretty awesome Christmas songs, you think its possible some make it to her sets? That Christmas (baby please come home) song is a classic!!I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in wanting to hear some of these, even in May!!

I've got Night Ranger. But seriously, to see Bad Company - OMG Paul Rogers. That's a legend on stage. I feel like rescheduling .....

No worries, Paul Rodgers isn't touring with that version of Bad Company. Brian Howe was in the group for a while, and he's on the bill for EPCOT. Think you did pretty darn good with Night Ranger. We have ELO, without Jeff Lynne.
